Home description
This Mansion, really and truly a beauty spot, is located directly above Grasse with impressive panoramic views to the front. Grasse lies approx 15 km from the coastline and is protected by the foothills of the Alps behind it. The excellent climate has attracted the European Aristocracy for over a 100 years, Queen Victoria spent her holidays here. Numerous buildings - like this villa - were built to house them. The villa is within walking distance of all shops and amenities.
The villa sits in a Mediterranean garden, with a pool and a large south-facing terrace. There is parking for 3 cars and the driveway is gated. There are two/three bedrooms, one of them with en suite facilities and balconies. There are two stylish bathrooms and a shower room. There is a large living area, one further living-area with television - dvd - hifi - , a fully equipped kitchen as well as a billard table, bar and large terraces. The estate is lined with hedges and is very private.
As it is the regular residence of the owner throughout the year, you will find all equipments on a very high standard.

*Golf The French Riviera is the ideal destination for golfing ethusiasts who like a Mediterranean backdrop to their swing. There are 19 courses near the Villa, including: 10 minutes drive: Saint Donat Country Club: 18 hole (6031m par 71 and its 9-hole course are set in a typically natural decor combining trees, fragrances and flower beds. A fine American-style course, beautiful sculpted, it easily accommodates all levels of play. It owns all the triumphs of a big golf centre. Clauxamic Golf Course - 18hole course (6021m par 72 lies on a superb hillside estate above Grasse. The quiet and serene atmosphere, encourages relaxation and concentration. A fine day's golf under the shadow of an oak forest and the smell of Grasse's perfumes.
* Sailing In the Côte d'Azur is ideal for sailing. Cruises along the coast or further out to sea are easy, with about 30 harbours along the coast. There are opportunities for complete beginners, both adults and children as well as experts.
*Maritime Museums Monaco Oceanographic Museumn a remarkable collection of marine fauna. Marineland is great for children, with a brand new pool for orcas, the dolphin and sea-lion shows, the shark tunnel aquarium, the 'hands-on', rayfish pool, the Jellyfish Odyssey, the Tropical reefs and aquariums.
* Interesting Towns and Villages. Le Suquet (Cannes), Biot, Mougins, Haut de Cagnes, St Paul de Vence, Eze Village, La Turbie, Beausoleil, Roquebrune. For interesting and historical walls and old military buildings- Ramparts of Antibes and the Fort Carré, Fort du Mont Alban in Nice, Citadel at Villefrance, Château de la Napoule, Château de Roquebrune, Bastion in Menton's Old Port.
Grasse / Riviera area
Grasse is a medieval town set in the foothills of the Alps overlooking the Cote d'Azur. Being set back slightly from the coast, it overlooks the mediterranean sea from Nice to the gulf of Mandelieu and into the mountains of Esterel with a wonderful panorama.
Grasse is well-known as the world's capital for perfume and houses the 3 large perfumeries: Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard, all of which can be visited and all offer visitors the chance to create their own perfume.
There are numerous activities available in the area: * Cycling, diving, fishing, golf, horse riding, hiking, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, canyoning, rafting, canoeing, roller blading, sailing, ski, surfing, swimming, tennis, walking, water skiing, wind-surfing
* Festivals in Grasse include the "Fete des Jasmins" in August and the "Expo Rose" in May. There are even further special events, for example the Trufflefestival in November or the Olivefestival in June.
* Ideal location für the International Film-Festival in Cannes an a good trip to the Formula 1 Grand Prix race of Monaco.
How to get there
By Train: The fast train from Nice to Grasse takes 35 minutes and from Cannes is 25 mins. The TGV from Paris arrives in Cannes and then change for the Grasse express train (25 mins). The villa is near the centre and accessible from train and nearby the bus terminals.
By Plane: Grasse town is a 35 minute drive from Nice airport. London to Nice takes 1.50 hours and then you can drive or take the train or bus to Grasse town.Taxis await you at both terminals. There are cheap flights to Nice from London with Easyjet , BMI, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Air France. Flights leave from Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stanstead & also from Bristol, Manchester, Dublin & Edinburgh.
By Car: Car hire is available from Budget, Avis,and Hertz at Nice Airport. A car is not necessary, but very useful !

*A car is not necessary, but recommended. All day to day shopping needs can be met within walking distance of 5 to 7 minutes.

*A non refundable deposit of 20% is required on booking and the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, or immediately if booking is made within 8 weeks of arrival date. A refundable cash security deposit of € 1000 (or equivalent) is required against breakages and damage which will be refunded at the return of the villa keys to us providing our agent has found everything to be in order after checking the villa inventory.
*A cancellation is possible up to 8 weeks prior to arrival at the cost of the deposit. From 8 weeks to 2 weeks prior to arrival a cancellation is possible with costs of 50 %, and, sorry, for the last two weeks it´s 100 %.
