The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Provence-Alps-Côte d'Azur region is ideally situated between the Mediterranean coastline and the Alps. Its location and climate are extremely attractive. Extraordinary scenery combined with a rich historical past of exceptional archaeological and architectural interest, together with a multitude of celebrations and festivals, make it an exciting area to visit. Every city, town, village and resort is adequately equipped to accommodate and cater for the needs of the tourist trade whether in top class hotels or on camp sites.
An interesting variety of tourism has been carefully developed here over the years. Needless to say, the seaside resorts are the last word in entertainment, for aquatic sport and swimming, while the hill-walker and those seeking the quieter pathways find a varied countryside ; and when the seasonal change progresses, winter sports come into their own. One can honestly boast that visitors from all over the world rate this place the premier European tourist region.
The French Riviera-Côte d'Azur stretches along the Mediterranean at the foot of the last outcrop of the Alpine chain. Thanks to its southern situation, the proximity of the sea, the full southern exposure and, above all, to the screen of high mountains which protect it from the cold continental winds, it enjoys an exceptionally high winter temperature. Its privileged position means that the slopes are covered with tropical vegetation : orange and aloe, cactus and eucalyptus, rose-laurel, bougainvillea and mimosa.
In under two hours you can travel from the palms and lemon trees of the coast to the nearby Alpine peak for coolness in the summer and snowsports in winter. With such a number of attractive features combined with the variety and quality of entertainment and the multitude of hotels and villas, it is no wonder that it attracts visitors from all over both in summertime and wintertime.
The Grasse / St. Jacques area
The Côte d’Azur, the French Riviera: its sun, its beaches... and especially its backcountry, a true haven of well-being, brimming with authentic flavours and fragrances!!! Rising from the hills above the Mediterranean is the city of Grasse, the perfume capital of the world, surrounded by the charming Provencal landscape and villages of the Pays de Grasse, the regional name for this breathtaking and tranquil countryside. Together, they form the French Rivera’s most beautiful balcony.
At the dawn of the new millennium, with the renewed emphasis on authenticity, well-being, and the great outdoors, the Pays de Grasse is in the spotlight: a vast natural and cultural amphitheatre, rich in fascinating historic and architectural treasures. The region is a remarkable destination, featuring stunning perched villages and gentle hills, covered with olive trees, rolling all the way down to the sea. Here, the locals still speak the language of their ancestors, seeking both to preserve and to share their identity.
The people of Grasse and the Pays de Grasse warmly welcome you. Their sole ambition is to help you enjoy their region’s opportunities for rest and relaxation, dining and recreation, and natural and cultural discovery.
Whether you are visiting for leisure or for business, take the time to explore the Pays de Grasse, a visit that will leave you with unforgettable memories and an irresistible desire to return.
The helpful professionals at the Pays de Grasse tourism offices are available to advise you on every aspect of this wondrous land and will assist you with an itinerary that meets your every need and expectation.

We liked how the house looks from outside and interior is very nice also. Nice and convenient veranda. All what is necessary for comfortable living is present including wifi, cable tv, dvd, washing mashine, microwave etc. Very nice view from the house over surroundings. Great swimming pool, quite long and deep enough with chaises longues and umbrellas. Pavillion for barbecue with all what is necessary to do it easily. Ideally to have a car to be able to travel across Cote d'Azure, Cannes are just 20-25 minutes drive and Nice is just 40 mins away. Playing room for children and large trampoline! When we came we found the house easily, but we had navigation in our car, make sure you have one or have good description how to find the house. Bakery with great bread and sweets and supermarket are nearby. Overall impression is that it is great and very convenient house, ideal for pleasant vacation. |
