The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The climate at Les Ormeaux means that the delights of the Cote D'Azur can be sampled whatever the season.
Cannes, Nice, Antibes, St. Tropez, Monaco and the Gorge Du Verdon are all within easy reach of Grasse. Where else could you find a list of places to visit like that! But there are many more interesting places to visit which may not have the glitz of the aforementioned. Try St. Paul De Vence, Cabris, Biot and Mougins to get a real taste de France.
The owners know you will love the area and are certain that you will want to return to Les Ormeaux on more than one occasion.
Grasse / Riviera area
The town of Grasse is a 10 minute walk from Les Ormeaux. The perfumeries for which it is famous are dotted around the town centre and include Molinard, Fragonard and Galimard. Perfume essence is manufactured in Grasse from flowers from the local area as well as those which are imported. Regular guided visits are available, why not take the chance to make your own perfume, at any of the perfumeries.
Grasse is a medieval town and is criss-crossed by miles of interesting and ancient paths and alleyways. The “Place aux Aires” at the centre of town is where you will find the flower sellers as well as a number of great cafes and restaurants. The market is held on Wednesday but you will need to rise early as its all over by lunchtime.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Nice (about half an hour away) Many of the budget airlines as well as British Airways and Air France run regular services at very good rates and from most UK airports. All the main car hire companies operate from Nice Airport and many offer very good rates. Grasse is an easy drive from Nice via the A8. Driving to the Cote D'Azur from the UK is an option, a very scenic drive through some spectacular countryside, the trip is best broken in the middle.
