"Peaceful Haven"

We had a fantastic three day break here over Christmas and it was so warm and toasty we didn't want to leave the building. We also stayed here for a week in June 2013 during a heat wave and both… More

"Everything we had hoped for and more!"

Lovely cosy apartment with superb views of Grasmere lake and the surrounding mountains. Set in a quite location away from the hustle and bustle of Grasmere village, but close enough to walk to for its amenities. Both bedrooms have en-suite facilities, which is always a bonus. The Lounge, kitchen diner is well equipped and very comfortable. The driveway is rather steep but a parking space is available at the bottom of the dive which was perfectly adequate for us. Lastly, although the apartment is attached to the owners property they did not bother us at all unless we asked for their help, having said that they were very friendly and informative. Sadly the summer dates that we wanted were already booked, but we cant wait for our return trip next November.

Thank you for your kind comments and we are so glad that you enjoyed your holiday. We are always thinking of new ways to add to guests enjoyment - we are currently planning a bird-cam so guests can watch the wildlife, birds, squirrels and maybe even badgers live on the TV!. We have added another level parking bay part way up the drive which is useful for turn-arounds so that'll be ready for your next visit. Look forward to seeing you again!
Best wishes Nick and Polly

"great place"

what can i say this is the perfect retreat in the lakes, ideally situated in Grasmere great for local walks easy to get in to village but far enough away to be quiet.. amazing view over the lake. inside great kitchen diner / lounge bedroom 1 perfect with en-suite v comfortable bed lovely second bathroom with a great shower. Nick and Polly are lovely and cant do enough to help. loved the place so much that after i proposed we sorted out having our honeymoon there next year.. but couldn't wait a whole year to go back so have been back since and booked in for march next year too.

What can we say - wonderful comments from wonderful people! It was so romantic that you actually proposed at Silver Fell and we are delighted that you chose this as your special place on the occasion of your honeymoon too! We'll prepare the rose petals and luxury welcome pack - can't promise with the weather but we'll do our best!
Very best wishes and heartiest congratulations from Nick and Polly

"Beautiful holiday cottage in a fabulous location."

Silver Fell is a beautiful holiday cottage and the location is just fabulous. Shame we didn't have better weather but we still managed a decent walk every day apart from Sunday, all on the door-step.

Thank you for your kind comments! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, in spite of some wet weather! It's great you managed to walk every day, bar one, as well. We've now added to the list in the cottage, of more suggestions for things to do on wet days, including indoor places to visit, spa / pamper days locally, and we've added some DVDs to view if you just want to chill out.
Best wishes, Nick and Polly

"A Cosy Compact Cottage!"

Silver Fell is on the outskirts of Grasmere village about a 10 minute walk from the centre. It is very well situated on Red Bank Road for several worthwhile 'walks from the door'! The cottag… More

Thank you for your kind comments in our visitors book at the cottage. We are away quite a bit, but try to be around at weekends for new arrivals to make sure they have everything they need for a wonderful holiday.
We have just upgraded the Wi-Fi to BTHub4 which has improved things and expect to get Infinity in Grasmere soon!
There is now a good selection of DVD's to enjoy on the Sony 40"TV.
We always recommend our more spacious spa bathroom with bath/shower if size is an issue.
The drive is steep with parking at the top, and a level walk to the cottage. The benefit of the elevation is the expansive views you enjoy from inside and out. Thanks again for your comments.

"A beautiful 'cottage' with a beautiful view"

We spend a couple of days in the Lake District every December. There's middle-aged me, my two 'kids' and my son's wife. This is our first stay at Grasmere and our first at Silver F… More

Thank you for your comments, very thoughtfully expressed, and we agree that a winter booking is certainly the test for any property! The fact that you really enjoyed it makes it all worth while for us, we love having visitors and sharing this beautiful part of the world. Our cleaner is great, and we have to respect her timescale for her high standards, so thank you for being so understanding. Really hope we see you again. Best wishes, Nick and Polly
