Once the Waterford Hotel, the imposing granite apartment building has been renovated and converted into individual units. Aspen Apartment is on the ground floor and is completely self-contained with it's own front door onto the tree-lined Square, set back from the main road.

The main hallway gives access to all rooms including the large sitting room with contemporary furnishings and high quality audiovisual equipment. The main bedroom has a comfortable double bed and en-suite shower room. There is also a twin-bedded room and 'family' bathroom with a shower over the bath. Both bedrooms have ample cupboard space and high quality bedlinen, towels and bath mats are supplied.

The large dining kitchen is well appointed and has 2 double glazed doors opening onto an enclosed private, fenced area at the rear of the property with decking and outdoor furniture. Parking is available at both the front and rear of the apartment and there is ample outdoor lockable storage for guest's sports equipment.

Aspen Apartment is an ideal base from which to explore the National Park in which it is situated. With fishing, golf, hill walking, mountain bike trails, bird watching, historic properties and much more there is never a shortage of things to do and see.

Aspen has high ceilings and generously proportioned rooms. Fitted and furnished to a very high standard with many thoughtful extras such as a selection of herbs and spices with supplies of tea, coffee, machine washing powder etc.

It is very conveniently situated with a well stocked small supermarket just a 2 minute walk away and many more interesting independent shops and businesses available nearby. There are many pubs and restuarants within a short distance.

The Scottish Highlands region

The Scottish Highlands are renowned for beautiful scenery, wildlife, historic buildings and monuments and lots and lots of weather! Mountains, rivers, lochs, beaches and forests - the Highlands have all in abundance. With all manner of outdoor activities available from paint-balling to mountain-biking there is something for everyone. The numerous castles, whiskey distilleries, historic houses, art galleries and museums mean there is alway something to do on rainy days too.


Grantown-on-Spey is the charming capital of Strathspey. A traditional small Highland Town on the Northern edge of the Cairngorm National Park it is a fine example of a Georgian planned town. It has an open tree-lined square and many fine granite buildings. The town is surrounded by ancient woodlands and the many way-marked trails will reward you with views of the surroundings mountains, river Spey and sightings of Red Squirrels and many native birds.

Grantown is an ideal base from which to explore the Cairngorm National Park where all manner of outdoor pursuits are available including mountain-biking, fishing, shooting, hillwalking, climbing, canoeing and golf. The area also has a wildlife park with both native rare species and other endangered animals, RSPB Osprey Reserve, museums, historic properties, a steam railway line and several whiskey distilleries. The High Street and Square are lined with a variety of interesting , independent shops and businesses selling everything from children's clothes to fishing tackle. There are numerous cafes, hotels and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets and all are within easy walking distance of the apartment.

Thank you for reviewing my property in Grantown-on-Spey.
I am sorry about the toilet seat, it is a problem I am aware of and I appreciate how irritating it must be - for a man! I have bought and fitted several different seats the latest being a soft close one but so far none of them will stay up, however, I will keep trying until I am successful.

"perfect accommodation"

Sehr unkomplizierte Abwicklung der Buchung und des Aufenthaltes, obwohl kein persönlicher Kontakt zustand kam, fühlten wir uns gut betreut, da alle möglichen Dinge im Haus auch gut beschrieben wurden, alles zu finden war, An- wie auch Abreise (Schlüsselübergabe) gut gelöst war.
Die Wohnung machte einen durchdachten, gepflegten und sehr liebevoll eingerichteten Eindruck.
Nur das Ehebett war für uns doch sehr schmal ;-)
