The Scottish Highlands region
The Highlands of Scotland can be beautiful whatever the weather and yes you can have 4 seasons in 1 day!
The spring and summer are great for seeing nature coming to life. The scenery is amazing and there is so much to explore outdoors. Fishing and golfing are just a couple of the local activities. There are some good mountain bike trails in the forest to the rear of the cottage if walking alone is not sufficient, or perhaps you would prefer to go by horse or quad bike.
Autumn brings spectacular colours to the whole area and pheasant season starts.
Winter has its own unique beauty, snow covered landscapes are a wonder to behold and for the energetic there are a couple of ski areas nearby.
It is easy to get to Inverness, Isle of Skye, Deeside and Balmoral.
The town itself has good shops, restaurants and bars. The local museum is a treasure trove.
The Spey river is renown for its fishing and the area has numerous golf courses. Grantown is on the whiskey trail, where you can visit and sample many different whiskeys.
The Landmark centre in Carrbridge nearby is a must for those with families.

"Fantastic location & Great value & Great Cottage"
My wife, three daughters, nutty lab and l travel and stay in the Highlands twice a year staying in cottages and this one cannot be beaten for location. It is tucked away just off the main High Street with a secure garden at the rear, great for the kids & dog to play safely. The cottage itself is well set out and light with all the mod cons a family needs. It also comes with a log burner which makes the lounge a cosy place to be after a long day out and about. The location is that good you do not need a car at all! the shops are a 5 min stroll away. We will be returning again soon just like the many who have filled in the customer comments book! Thanks for a great stay.
