Pine Cottage is a modern detached double glazed centrally heated bungalow standing in approximately 1/3rd of an acre of garden. It is in a very small mature development close to the River Spey. Grantown on Spey is about 1 mile away by car although there are many delightful paths to the town through the fine Anagach Woods which themselves abound with wildlife.

Quiet and comfortable, we built it for our own holiday use and have simply furnished it with our own comfort in mind.

Ideal for families of all ages, anglers, hill walkers, cyclists, ramblers, touring the Cairngorm National Park, children and nature lovers.

Well behaved pets are permitted

Tenancies are from 12.30pm on a Saturday to 10am on the Saturday of departure

Pine Cottage has 3 bedrooms, a dining kitchen, spacious lounge with log fire (fuel supplied), and a fully fitted bathroom.

Central heating. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, colour TV, DVD, stereo, CD player, radio etc. Small library of books.

Pillows and quilts are provided but guests should bring their own quilt covers, bottom sheet, pillow cases and towels. There is one double bed (5ft), two twin beds (standard single size) and 2 bunk beds (standard single size)

There is no telephone (we go there to escape from work) but mobile phone coverage is good.

We have loyal guests who have been coming here for many years, and most have become our friends, hence the limited availibilty.

The Cottage has a secure garden and drive so children can play safely. There is a garage for storage.

Within 200 yards of the cottage there is the cream of the Grantown Association salmon fishing water on the River Spey. 6 miles of double bank salmon and trout fishing on the river Spey with 12 miles of double bank on the river Dulnain. Five year average: 373 salmon/grilse and 396 sea trout. If you stay at the cottage you are entitled to purchase a weekly vistor permit (currently £195). For more information and pictures visit the Association web site . Take the family for a day out and then stroll down to the river for a couple of hours, wait for the rod to bend and the reel to scream !

The Aviemore and the Cairngorms region

The Cairngorms National Park. The biggest National Park in the UK, it boast Britains highest and most massive mountain range, its biggest and best ancient forests, vast moorlands, fields and villages, spectacularly clean rivers and lochs, red squirrels, reindeer, ospreys, eagles, capercaillie, wildcats in the woods etc. This special place offers the warmest of welcomes from the people who live and work there and once visited you will long to return.


Grantown-on-Spey is a small town on the edge of the spectacular Cairngorms National Park and makes a good base (and alternative to Aviemore) for exploring the Strathspey area. People come to ski and snowboard (in winter), in summer to climb, walk, cycle, fish, play golf and watch wildlife in general enjoying the great outdoors. The town is close to the heart of distillery country, eight of which you can visit on the a 70-mile Speyside Whisky Trail, ranging from big business productions like Glenfiddich to small, family-run distilleries that run personalised tours and tutored tasting sessions.

Grantown on Spey boasts attractions that range from a superb 18-hole golf course to the new Grantown Heritage Museum, the delightful Revack Estate with attractive gardens, an orchid house, nature trails and an adventure playground - great for a family day out. Weekly fishing permits are availabe to fish for salmon on the world famous river Spey (the Association water is 400 yards from the door of Pine Cottage). Within easy reach are the Highland Wildlife Park, the Strathspey Railway, the Craggan Oudoor Centre, the Cairngorm itself and the Landmark Forest Adventure Park. All great days out for all the family.
