The Sicily region
The best thing about Sicily is the weather, which is always good and you'll discover something special in each season of the year. During Spring the island is dotted with tiny colorful blossoms, Summers are hot with fantastic sunsets, Autumn is the best for city breaks as you can still explore while wearing shorts and flip flops, and in Winter the temperature rarely goes below 10 degrees, so still enjoyable!
For nightlife, Sicily has an abundance of bars, restaurants and clubs. Why not take a cable car up to Taormina, Sicily's most famous resort, with cool clubs, bars and restaurants. Down below you'll find plenty of beach parties too.
Mount Etna, make your way up the long winding roads before walking right to the top to get a view you will never forget. In winter you can even enjoy skiing on this massive volcano!
Sicily offers some very attractive hiking options while getting to know the island. There are loads of interesting mountain ranges all over the island. The best time for hiking is around Easter and October because the weather is just right.
Last, but definitely not least, is Sicilian food! Sicilian cuisine is fresh and full of flavours, and although certainly Italian, there is a marked difference, with a hint of North African flavour and Arabic spices. Dine in one of many fantastic restaurants and try local specialities such as Pasta con le Sarde ( sardines, fennel, anchovies, raisins and pine nuts, Caponata (aubergine, pine nuts, tomato, capers, olives and celery) and for those with a sweet tooth,a classic Sicilian dessert, Cassata (riccotta sponge cake) or Cannoli pastry shells filled with sweetened ricotta, topped with bitter-sweet dry orange.
Graniti is located at 350 mt. above sea level. The environment is quiet and tranquil. Those keen on various outdoor activities will discover the area is perfect for horseback riding, swimming and boating. Diverse historic landmarks, art festivals and museums and galleries may also be visited within easy reach. Wine connoisseurs, shopping hunters and gourmets may visit fascinating wine tasting venues, restaurants and shops.
Visit the Pinewood Graniti .... a natural forest of stone pines (Pinus pinea), maritime (Pinus pinaster) and Aleppo (Pinus halepensis). Its extension is about 36 hectares, and measures following a massive landslide that struck Granite in 1880. The Pineta in 1950 was acquired by the municipality, which has made ??a suburban park.
In June, typical is the traditional Sagra delle ciliegie in this tasting recipes with cherry like: syrup, marmellate, tart and much more.
The villa is within a short distance from several great options for day trips. Mount Etna 45 minutes drive, Taormina and Castelmola 20 minutes drive, Alcantara gorge 5 minutes drive, Siracusa 1,5 hours drive, Piazza armerina (Villa Romana del Casale) 2 hours drive, Savoca and Forza d'agro (From the Godfather movie) 25 minutes drive.

Dear Caron McDonald,
Good to hear that you had a good time in Barocco Siciliano. We deeply regret to read your comment about the key exchange on the first night, as we waited until 03:00 in the night your phone call to meet you. We also asked you several times to give us your phone numbers before departure and we did not get any answer.....not fair of you to blame us for this matter as we always are available for our guests on their arrival and during their stay.

The property is very spacious and clean and grounds are extensive with numerous terraces and areas for seating. The english speaking owner provided us with antipasti on arrival and basic food items which were much appreciated. Also she took us on a sight seeing tour and was a mine of information regarding local sights. we felt like at home at not in just a holiday accomodation.Perfect for a family looking for a romantic and relaxing break.
