Cloonagh Cottage is a welcoming single storey property 30 metres from the sea, in a peaceful location 6 miles from Grange in County Sligo. The two bedrooms - a double and a twin - are spacious and comfortable, while the bathroom is modern. The large kitchen is well-equipped, with a dining area and doors to the garden. The sitting room is cosy, especially when the open fire is roaring! Outside, the garden has some views to the sea, with a bench to sit and take in the fresh sea air. There is off road parking for two cars. With Sligo attractions such as walking, fishing, beaches and mountains on offer, Cloonagh Cottage makes a great base for families or couples alike.

""Just like the picture" It really was - only more beautiful if that would have been possible!"

I am sure most people have gone into a fast food restaurant and saw those big posters with the juicy, sumptuous burgers staring down at you - only to discover that when you actually get what you ordered, it looked nothing like the picture! This can never be said of Cloonagh Cottage! We were visiting family in Northern Ireland and before leaving Canada we had done much searching on the internet before choosing Cloonagh Cottage. It was to be our base as we searched out some family history in Donegal [which we have visited many times] as well as a chance to experience the beauty, culture and history that Sligo has to offer. Our first glimpse of what our stay would be like was when we came down the last of our winding, country roads to the T-junction - WOW! - nothing but Atlantic Ocean to the left and to the right - MAGNIFICENT! [our first photo] A few minutes to the right and we were to meet our Irish home. The white painted exterior with the shock of red beckons you from amongst it's carpet of greenery that is Ireland's beautiful landscape. You can still imagine the Thatch roof in place as you take your first step inside. The interior is exceptional with a generous sized living room complete with open fireplace, which we made use of in the evenings - nothing like a roaring turf fire in the grate and the wind blowing off the Atlantic!! Heaven!! The huge kitchen and eating area is brilliant, as to anyone who is Irish or knows anything about the Irish no matter how many rooms there are in the house EVERYONE ends up in the kitchen! The finishes were excellent, the facilities brilliant! Whatever we needed it was there - towels, linens, dishes, cutlery, dishwasher, washer, dryer and of course fridge and stove. Modern bathroom with large shower and bathtub met everyone's needs. The beds were comfortable and warm and the crib for our wee grand 'dotter' - perfect. Everything was spotlessly clean and inviting. Home away from home. We were met upon arrival and given 'the tour' as well as invaluable information with respect to fishing, walking, shopping, attractions, etc. The owner was a 'darlin girl' who came by to see us before we left, only to make sure we were happy and that our stay was enjoyable. At all times she was only a phone call away. No shopping malls, plazas or amusements here. To anyone who wants a real taste of Ireland with all the comforts of home we would definitely recommend Cloonagh Cottage.
