Set in the heart of the South Lakes district, this wonderful little cottage comes with all mod-cons – such as an iPod dock and DVD player – and is within easy driving distance of the Lake District National Park, Lakeland Motor Museum and pleasant seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands making it a great destination, no matter what the time of year.

Note: This is an old property, with steep stairs and some uneven walls. Because of this stair-gates cannot be fitted, so take extra care if bringing babies/toddlers.
The Cumbria/Lake District region
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes – the Lake District landscape has inspired several literary greats, including William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. Walking is one of the best ways of exploring the Lake District. For the serious walker the mountains of Skiddaw, Scafell and Helvellyn provide enjoyable challenges, whilst at lower levels there are hundreds of routes wandering among the lakes and stone-walled fields. You can even choose a lake to suit your mood: if bustling lakeside towns and exhilarating watersports take your fancy, then Windermere and Coniston Water, where you can cruise the lake on a steam-powered yacht soaking up the scenery in Victorian style, could be for you. If it’s peace and tranquility you seek then the secluded lakes of Buttermere and Wastwater are not to be missed. Yet Cumbria offers much more than the lakes alone. Explore the National Nature Reserve on Walney Island or visit the picturesque Duddon Valley, where the heather clad moors peppered with birch trees inspired many of Wordsworth’s poems. With its award-winning gardens and the Lakeland Motor Museum, Holker Hall is also a great day out, whilst in northern Cumbria the peaceful villages of Caldbeck and Ireby offer a haven of solitude and picturesque tranquility. To the east lies the green and sheltered Eden Valley. Its dramatic landscape provides a range of activities including walking, cycling and water sports and is home to the Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Lowther Wildlife Park, perfect for a family day out
The Grange-over-Sands / Cartmel area
Renowned for being the prettiest village in the Lake District, the small town of Cartmel in South Lakeland is a wonderful, picturesque holiday destination. At the heart of this thriving community is the Priory Church, one of the finest ecclesiastical buildings in the north of England with its gatehouse still in use as the entrance to the settlement itself. Amidst cobbled streets and pretty streamside walks, are a range of quaint gift shops, antique shops, traditional pubs that serve real ale and the nationally renowned Michelin-starred restaurant – L'Enclume. A well-loved destination for hill-walkers, the region is full of excellent trails through stunning, unspoilt countryside. In addition, there is the Campbell Legend Bluebird Exhibition, Lakeland Motor Museum and Hunt Racecourse all in the near vicinity. With Windermere and Grange-over-Sands only a few minutes away, there’s plenty for everyone to do.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
