About the home

Brackenbank epitomises Cumbrian cottages perfectly with lovely views over the south of the Lake District. These can be taken in comfort from the delightful patio at the rear of the property. Cottages in Cumbria do not come much better than this. This is a perfect family holiday location with three bedrooms and a modern kitchen. For entertainment a television, video and DVD player are all provided.

A multi-fuel stove is provided which all add to the cosy atmosphere this cottage generates. There is private parking provided and as with many Lake District cottages the charming cottage garden at the front really set it off.

The Cumbria/Lake District region

The Lake District conjures up images of magnificent mountains and shimmering lakes and that is exactly what visitors find here. Other areas to discover include the Eden Valley, Cartmel peninsula, south east Cumbria and the Carlisle and Hadrian's Wall area; all equally beautiful and very handy for day trips into the lakes.

The Grange-over-Sands / Backbarrow area

The village of Cartmel nearby is well worth a visit, sporting an array of historic buildings dating back as far as the 16th century. There is a traditional village square to enjoy and watch the world go by for a while. For the bird watchers amongst you a trip down to the nearby Morecombe Bay will be highly rewarding.
But there is much more to see and do here besides this. The famous Lake Windermere with it railway and fantastic aquarium is only a short drive away. Or enjoy some of the many outdoor activities and pursuits this area of the Lakes offers. Walking, cycling, pony trekking and sailing are just some of the options
