The Bothy at Garden Cottage
from £47 /night help
Cottage | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2
The Bothy is a single storey property sympathetically converted from the garden buildings of an old Victorian walled garden in a rural location, but close to Aberfeldy. The property has a comfortable double bedroom and delightful well-equipped kitchen/living area. The Bothy is ideal for sightseeing visitors as well as the more active, and you have the use of our flower garden and large meadow - ideal for picnics when the weather allows! For the colder months of the year the cottage offers oil-fired central heating as well as an open fire. We have plenty of parking and lots of room to hose down muddy mountain bikes in our old stable yard. There is also a drying room and separate barn for the undercover storage of bikes and motorbikes if required. We aim to be as flexible as we can so you can start your holiday here on any day of the week.

The Perth and Kinross region
The Bothy is situated deep in the upper Tay valley, one of Highland Perthshire's prettiest and at the same time, most stunning landscapes yet only some 6 miles from the A9. We are situated within an easy car drive of Glen Lyon, the longest and some say the most attractive glen in all Scotland. Ben Lawers, Perthshire's highest Munro, is but 20 minutes drive away and this mountain range will challenge the hardiest of walkers. Nearby and only a few miles west of us lies Kenmore on the shores of Loch Tay, where there is plenty of watersport activity.
Aberfeldy itself has much to commend itself to the tourist with golf, cycling and water activity centres all based in the town. The town has some delightful eating establishments, notably the Habitat cafe, Ailean Chraggan hotel/restaurant and the Cafe Amour bistro - all highly rated by TripAdvisor reviewers. It is also the home of the famous Watermill cafe and bookstore, consistently rated one of the finest of its type in the country. Grandtully itself is a small village yet is the home of the renowned Highland Chocolatier and the famous UK kayaking and canoeing centre. Freespirits whitewater rafting and adventure centre is also based right by the river here next to the Inn on the Tay, also consistently highly rated for eating by TripAdvisor reviewers.

"Incredible Welcome, beautiful setting, amazing value!"
My partner and I stayed at the Bothy for three nights over valentines day. Sharon and the family gave us such a warm welcome (heart shaped homemade shortbread and locally roasted coffee, alongside conversation & information about the area).
We had a wonderful three days, in which we spent time in Aberfeldy, Pitlochry, Loch Tay and the surrounding areas. It was a welcome break for the hustle and bustle of the city and I would heartily recommend staying at the Bothy. Absolutely Brilliant!
