Home description
A beautiful and spacious self-catering holiday house located right on the seafront in Grand Gaube, a fishing village on the popular north-eastern coast of Mauritius , offering a unique opportunity to see Mauritius as it is.
Set in an attractive tropical garden, with a “kiosk” overlooking the lagoon (perfect for breakfast and early evening drinks), the house has a spacious lounge/dining room and a kitchen plus a second toilet on the ground floor and two bedrooms, one with a small balcony overlooking the sea, plus bathroom on the first floor . The furniture is pleasant and in keeping with the environment. The view over the lagoon and the islands is stunning. The best swimming is found a few minutes' walk along the beach.
The house can accommodate four persons – five at a pinch, for there is a divan with a comfortable mattress in the living room.

The Mauritius North Coast/Grand Baie region
Grand Bay, Mauritius’ own St. Tropez, which offers a wide range of activities, such as deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, excursions, water sports, hotels, shops, boutiques, restaurants, discotheques etc… is an easy 15 minute drive away. Grand Bay is the busiest tourist spot in Mauritius. It is very beautifully located, has some wonderful shopping, and at least one large supermarket, where you can find those things that a village like Grand Gaube might not have available.
You can book any kind of water sports activities in Grand Bay : deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, under-water walk etc...
Grande Gaube area
We are located in the very heart of Grand Gaube, mid-way between the school and the church and a stone’s throw from several grocery stores, where one can find anything one needs for daily use. This is an authentic village in the sense that it exists for its inhabitants and is not mainly devoted to tourists, although people are always very hospitable and happy to welcome strangers.
In earlier days, Grand Gaube was famous for its boat-builders and the quality of the fish from the lagoon. Nowadays, glass fibre has replaced wood when it comes to boat building, but there are still one or two persons left in Grand Gaube who master the technique of building wooden boats.
There are two hotels of international standard and they also offer some sports facilities and excursions, and of course they have bars and restaurants that non-guests can enjoy.
How to get there
By air with such airlines as Air Mauritius, British Airways, Air France, Air Condor, Emirate Airlines etc....
We can arrange for transfer from the airport to Grand Gaube and return; cost approximately £30 one way
