Apartment in Montmartre

Excellent 5/5 Score from 1 review

Romantic Bedroom

Apartment | 1 bedrooms | sleeps 2

Key Info

  • Car not necessary

It is a beautiful apartment in the heart of Montmartre. It is on the third floor of an art nouveau building which was built in 1914. The apartment has a host of period features, all beautifully restored, including fireplaces and original cornice work.

The sitting room is decorated in a typical Parisian style of warm caramel and deep red tones and looks wonderful by candlelight - cosy or romantic, you choose. Either way, it is the most perfect setting for that most civilised of French habits - the pre dinner glass of champagne. There is a stereo with CD and a collection of CDs.

The bedroom, with its beautiful blue grey walls, original fireplace and mirror is more reminiscent of a chateau than of a Parisian apartment. The bedroom has been decorated to provide a relaxing and sensationally glamourous retreat. The bed has a pocket sprung mattress, feather quilt and luxurious linen.

The shower room has a large powerful shower and is decorated in creamy pink and inky blue mosaic tiles. There is a heated towel rail and a Villeroy & Boch Art Deco basin and fittings. The WC is separate.

The kitchen is equipped with a two ring ceramic hob, fridge, washing machine, kettle, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery utensils and glassware. There is no oven or microwave.

The Paris/Ile de France region

Oooh that's my favourite part of Paris”, was the universal reaction about the 18th arrondissement when we bought the apartment. Quirky, arty, very Parisian, full of wonderful bars, restaurants and original shops – who doesn't like Montmartre?

Montrmartre is considered by many to be the artistic hub of Paris. Picasso, Modigliani, Van Gogh, Monet and Toulouse-Lautrec all made this historic area their home and won't you be the smug one knowing that you've paid the same as someone in a drab 2-star hotel? Remember them, as you sip a coupe de champagne under the chandelier in your private Paris salon.

Grand Paris

All the local amenities are very close to hand – your boulangerie is on the corner and there is a small grocers across the road who seems to sell everything at any hour. A little further down, you will find Rue Damrémont which has an excellent deli, cheese shop, wine merchants and more diet-wrecking cake shops. There are bars, cafés and restaurants all around.

10-15 minutes stroll away is Abbesses, home of Amélie Poulin. This is where you'll find Place du Tertre full of artists and cafés, popular with tourists, but really worth a visit. The world famous Sacré Coeur is a must and has a magnificent view of Paris. Abbesses is busy and lively. It has Paris' only vineyard and lots of bars and restaurants. There is lots to do – it's quirky and very Parisian. The trick is to stay somewhere a little quieter, where you can join in the fun, but still be able to get a good night's sleep. Our apartment allows you to enjoy the bars and cafés, but sleep easy in a residential area.

"A dream come true!"

The rooms are just as the photos! Beautifully decorated in the great art nouveau era of the early 1900's which looks authentic and romantic. It even has great music to enhance the mood of romant… More
