L’Appartement is a privately owned self catering chalet in the heart of the traditional village of Morillon. As our ‘home in the alps’ it has been refurbished to provide all the comforts you would expect to find back at home. We believe that this little known village is the perfect holiday destination for couples and families for the following reasons:

L‘Appartement benefits from being situated in the heart of the charming village of Morillon located right on the piste enabling you to ski out and ski in. This bright airy apartment is split between two levels. The first floor comprises a shower room and toilet, a bedroom with a double bed and a fully equipped kitchen/diner with south facing balcony. The stairs to the upper level lead into the spacious lounge area which includes a double sofa bed, open log fire and small balcony. On the upper level there is a further double bedroom with small balcony.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
A beautiful unspoilt part of France in the Northern French Alps, offering so much to do both in the Winter and the Summer. The Grand Massif is one of the largest ski regions in France with year on year good snow records, from December through to April.
There is an excellent and well established ESF Ski School in Morillon with English speaking instructors, and also a Children's Creche for children aged 6 months +.
Other winter pursuits include cross country skiing, snow shoeing, snow trekking, paragliding, ice skating and dog sledging. The famous and cosmopolitan resort of Chamonix with Mount Blanc towering over the village is only 1 hour away, and well worth a visit. From Chamonix a short drive through the Mont Blanc Tunnel will take you in to Italy and the resort of Courmayeur.
Morillon sits on the banks of the river Giffre, surrounded by lush green countryside, with fantastic views and a warm sunny climate during the summer, If you just want to chill out then you can relax amongst the beautiful scenery at one of the many bars and restaurants in the Giffre valley. Summer activities include walking, rafting, swimming, mountain biking, paragliding and more.
Grand Massif / Morillon area
There are so many Winter and Summer activities within the region and so many beautiful places to visit. Winter holiday activities include 265km of groomed, linked pistes, and endless off piste areas, within the Grand Massif Ski Area. One pass can cover the whole area which includes Flaine, Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt.
Further skiing is available in the adjacent resorts of LesGets and Morzine, part of the Port Du Soleil Region. There are also many km of Cross Country Skiing available.
Chamonix and Mount Blanc are only 1 hours drive away, with the opportunity to see the glaciers and the superb views from Mount Blanc viewing platform. Other winter activities include an Indoor pool at Cluses just 15 kms away, Paragliding, Hang-gliding, Hot Air Ballooning at Les Carroz, walking, heli-skiing and helicopter rides.
Summer activities include the lake and beach in Morillon, the lovely outdoor pools at Samoens, tennis, table tennis,volleyball, water sports, white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, driving range, tree top buzz wires, fishing, mini golf, and over 400km of cycling routes.
Further afield you could visit beautiful Annecy, (little Venice), Geneva, Evian, and other lovely lake side villages, as well as the numerous beautiful Alpine villages and attractions in the area.
How to get there
Geneva is the closest airport and takes about 1hr 20 minutes from the UK. L'Appartement is an easy 50 minute (60 km) drive down the motorway from Geneva Airport towards Cluses and Chamonix. Other airports include, Annecy 65km, Chambery 100km, or Lyon 180km.
Budget Airlines include Easyjet, www.easyjet.co.uk and BMI Baby, www.bmibaby.com. These two tend to offer the best deals, the earlier you book the cheaper the flights around £50 return if you book early.
Other carriers include, British Airways, flybe and jet2.com. Expedia and ebookers are also good websites to browse.
Ferries include P&O, Seafrance, Transmarche and Brittany Ferries and operate between Dover to Calais, Newhaven to Dieppe, Portsmouth to Cherbourg. Or take the Channel Tunnel, Folkstone to Calais.
All major car rental companies have desks at Geneva Airport, including Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Budget, Alamo and SIxt.
Booking on line can save time and money, I can recommend Holidayautos, www.holidayautos.co.uk and Budget, www.budget.co.uk who seem to offer the best overall package, including unlimited mileage.
A Bus service does run daily from Geneva to Morillon, approximately every 2 hours, 50 Euros, each way per person.

Further details indoors: Recently refurbished, this bright and airy apartment is split between two levels. The first floor comprises a double bedroom, shower room and a fully equipped kitchen/diner with south facing balcony offering spectacular views across the valley and mountain range.
Stairs to the upper level lead into the spacious lounge area with an open log fire and a small balcony. The second double bedroom is also located on this level and there is additional sleeping capacity in the form of a double sofa bed in the lounge area if required. Also in the lounge area you will find a TV, DVD player and stereo, along with a selection of board games and books. All linens and towels are provided.
Further details outdoors: To the rear of the property, there is a garage with storage for skis/bikes and a boot warmer to ensure that your ski boots are ready for the morning runs.
Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the full price will be required to secure a booking. The balance will be required 28 days before arrival. Standard change over day is Sunday. However, we can be flexible on change over days – please let us know if you would like to arrive on an alternative day.
