Winter For anyone who loves skiing, this is the place to be. The grand massif has 265 km of pistes which caters for all abilities. The day can start and end with freshly baked coissants, cakes and bread from the local bakery - 2 minutes walk. Or for anyone that wants to break up the day and come back for lunch, the chalet is a convienent 5 minutes drive away. Roads are clearer day and night of snow for anyone nervous of driving. In Les Carroz there is also a iceskating rink, lovely walks and traditional shops to browes.
Summer Go up into the mountains and follow the paths on foot or by bike withlots of peace and quiet. At the sport centre there is a large outdoor space with 3 swimming pools, volley ball and a trampoline. This is all set within a large grassy area - you can take food and seats if you like or buy from the cafe. The sport centre also has organised activites and 6 tennis courts. There is also a BMX track with jumps.
Eating out in Les Carroz is typically french with tradional savoyard cooking and plenty of good pizza restaurants. Or pass the time sitting drinking coffee and enjoy the view

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
Haute-Savoie is filled with quaint traditional mountain villages all offering skiing in the winter and outdoor pursuits in the summer.
For those who want to venture further Chamonix is 1 hour, Lake Geneva 1 hour or Lake Annecy is a bit further -approx 2 hours.
Grand Massif / Araches area
Les Carrox enjoys a sunny location in the Grand Massif region of the French Alps. It is family friendly, charming, authentic village which, due to its resident population remains open all year. The town centre is its hub with entertainment organised during the high season of summer and winter. Plenty of restaurants,shops and a couple of pubs with outdoor seating allowing you to enjoy the views. 3 Supermarkets, butchers, local deli selling ready made meals and puddings for eating in. The local market is every Tuesday.
In Winter the skiing is extensive and caters for all abilities. The villages of Les Carroz, Flaine, Morrillon and Samoin are all connected without the use of anything but skis and a variety of lifts. Blacks/reds/blues and a few green runs all end up on the same lift so you can stay together no matter what your ability. Other activities are hot air balloon rides, horse pulled skiing or parante. Or simply hire rackets and just walk.
In Summer its great for walkers and mountain bikes with marked paths to explore. The sport centre has tennis, archery and a large outdoor swimming area with 2 large pools and a pool with slides. See www.lescarroz.com
Whilst at Morrillon an assort course of roof top rope bridges and zipslides is only for the brave. Or boat and swim in the lake.
