What a find, this fantastic chalet is in a prime position on a south facing slope overlooking the Giffre Valley . Ideal for both winter and summer holidays. Coming home from skiing the Chalet Chocolat was bliss with the outside hot tub to jump in, well stocked kitchen, beautiful lounge(the sofas are fab), lovely bedrooms and showers. The views from the chalet are out of this world and it was great to sit on the balcony or in the hot tub with a G&T taking in the superb scenery. The Ski bus was approx 100 metres down the road with easy access to both the Morillon and Samoeons Ski Lifts and the Grand Massif ski area. Great variety of skiing with uncrowded slopes and no lift queues. Samoens village is beautiful and well worth a visit with a wide variety of shops where we could purchase our groceries. Having our own ski equipment we found rental lockers near the Samoens ski lift. There is a great 'boulangerie' nearby. We are a ski club with many years holidaying in the alpes. This is by far the best accommodation we have found. There are stunning walks from the chalet down through forests and gorges to the villages in the valley. All 9 of us enjoyed finding our way down to Samoens on our last day. Many thanks to Rebecca and John for all their help and advise, nothing was too much trouble for them. We loved their chalet and hope to return in the near future. |

A most amazing chalet in a wonderful location Wendy West Sussex, England Review Submitted: February 13, 2011 Date of Stay: February 2011 We have just had a fabulous week in Chalet Chocolat. It exceeded our expectations and we cannot find a fault. Everything was luxurious from linen to a well equipped kitchen. The hot tub was fabulous after a day on the slopes and a favourite with us all. The games room was fantastic and hours were spent on table tennis in the evenings. We had eight in our party - four young, four older! There truly was something for everyone. De la Terre was great for delivering food to your door and the local hotel had good food and was very welcoming. How great to have a day skiing, a hot tub and then relax in front of a wood burner! We definitely would like to return. The ski bus is a two minute walk away and the slopes are great. Thank you Rebecca and John for all your hospitality and tips regarding transfers and food and for letting us share your corner of paradise! Wendy + 7 others! |

We have just returned from a fantastic weeks skiing holiday staying at the lovely chalet chocolat. It was a week we had been looking forward to for sometime, a holiday to celebrate my husbands 40th and to introduce our children to skiing and we were not disappointed in anyway. The chalet is beautiful, glorious setting, handy for the ski bus and about 5 mins from the lovely village of Samoens. The accomodation is excellent, all the furniture, bedding, towels etc were of great quaity, lots of hot water after a day up the mountain and a fantastc hot tub with an amazing view - bliss. Rebecca (the owner) had put us in touch with a local caterer who delivered our dinner to the chalet each day and all we had to do was heat it up - such a treat and great quality (would definitely do this again!). The chalet had a cot and highchair already set up for our little one, the only suggestion i would make is that it would have been good if there had been some plastic cutlery, plates, bowls etc. for the little one to use, just to ensure no breakages! Overall we had a superb holiday and would definitely go back again. Many Thanks Rebecca |

PERFECT CHALET RETREAT
We are 2 families who have just spent a week in Chalet Chocolat. What a beautifful place it is. Ideally situated a short walk from the shuttle bus or 5 minute drive to the lifts.
The furnishings were very comfortable and luxurious with a very well equiped kitchen, but the icing on the chocolat cake was the hot tub. Such a pleasure to experience it after a hard day on the slopes.
Becky and John were so helpful and friendly, giving us tips and advice which proved invaluable.
This has to be the one of the best Chalets available in the area and we would not hesitate in recommending it to anyone.
Thanks Becky and John for a lovely time. ( Lyn W)
PARADISE!
Our group spent a week at the Chalet Chocolat and we all had a fantastic time. The Chalet is absolutely beautiful with stunning panoramic views. It is close to all amenities and an ideal central location for visiting places such as Chamonix, Le Praz De Lys, Morzine etc. The hot tub was superb and many hours were spent relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. A perfect holiday and we would recommend it to people of all ages and any time of year. We will definitely visit again! ( B. Shellard)
A PERFECT WEEK!
What a place! And correctly recommended even for those who don't ski! Our March visit proved to us how beautiful Verchaix could be all-seasons-round. We experienced hot sunshine over glimmering snow, and where the 'white' had evaporated, the colourful spring countryside was shown in all its Alpine glory. I was perhaps more in awe of this than the rest of the family, as "I don't ski". I simply love to absorb the atmosphere and the changes that a holiday brings and this was the perfect chalet and location to please us all!
It was also the first time on skis for the children, aged 8 & 9, who took part in ski lessons at Morillon, a 10-minute drive from the local school. I joined their lessons for the first couple of days - 1 hour a time. The instructors were excellent. My husband had skiied 20 years ago and was soon back on the red slopes - inspired by an expert, the owner of Chalet Chocolat.
Becky & John are always willing to share their knowledge of everything that can help guests enjoy themselves to the full, and I have not come across better customer service. They are well versed in all aspects of children's upbringing and have pride in Romany's (their daughter's) teenage GBR ski-team ability.
Chalet Chocolat has clearly been crafted to the highest standard, offering comfort in simplicity - of wood and stone, with fur blankets and fresh, inviting bedding to add luxury. Coloured lights in the bath delighted the children. And I basked in the balcony jacuzzi, overlooking the stunning mountain scape.
Thank you, Becky & John, for a perfect week ( Kate S)

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL LUXURY AT GREAT VALUE
What a fabulous holiday home! John and Rebecca have added so many lovely little touches that make a world of difference. Fantastic location, it couldn't be easier to get to the ski bus if you don't feel like driving to the slopes and the view is wonderful. There are a few lovely restaurants just down the road and a few other towns close by that are worth checking out.
We especially enjoyed watching the log fire from the comfort of the huge sofa and the adorable Christmas tree they had left for us.
The property was very clean and modern, rooms were all lovely and the beds very comfortable. The only issue we had was with the hot tub as the screen was damaged and it was a little cold, but Rebecca responded very quickly to my enquiry so we were able to resolve the issue and as I understand this has now been fixed.
We would definitely recommend and would love to stay again. ( Amy, Australia)

This a beautiful and stunning chalet well located for the Grand Massif skiing areas. Really good size with excellent facilities within the Chalet and from what I had seen in the area this looked like one of the best.
(one of our group said "this is the most luxurious Chalet I have stayed in" and he's a regular skiier) There are restaurants very closeby which serve very good food.
Very clean and welcoming and the beds and bed linen were absolute heaven, great to fall into after a hard day on the piste. We were a group of adults with a 2 year old, she loved it and it was very safe for her with stair gates and a cot provided.
I would absolutely recommend using the local catering service from Debbie at De La Terre - this was a godsend for us girls who always end up doing all the cooking.
The owners were very good at communicating with us, as we were quite a hard bunch to accommodate, lots of queries and questions which they answered immediately.
The scenery is stunning and we had a great time. Also if you have infants make sure you book them into the nursery as soon as you can as places are really limited and they were full when we tried.
I would definitely recommend Chalet Chocolat, and we would book again. ( Nisi)
e have just returned from Chalet Chocolat ,a truly sublime experience.
Our host Becky and John were thoughtful, accommodating and friendly and at the same time discreet. There if we needed them
otherwise in their own private home.
Our fully catered week turned out to be a triumph of diverse culinary skills. We returned to the chalet each day exhausted from skiing in the perfect snow conditions that always seem exist in the 'Grand Massif' , to freshly baked cakes and later whilst we soaked in the sheer luxury of a the private hot tub which overlooked both the valley and the mountains, and as the delicious smells of supper wafted towards us, we experienced a sense of blissful contentment.
The chalet is all that it appears on the website and more. The furnishing are of the highest quality and suggest that John and Becky have an artistic background. They certainly have eye for classy detail and seem to have anticipated everything that we would need for an enjoyable stay from the superbly equipped kitchen to the fabulous faux fur throws on the sofa and beds.
I would recommend this chalet to anyone,,, to those that have it all, I would say that you will not be disappointed with this chalet and to those who would like to try how the other half live .....indulge ( Wilson Family)
