This property is built and furnished to a four star standard, in a carefully chosen position, nestled in a small village in the beautiful Grand Massif and only two minutes walk to the ski lifts. Ski -in/Ski -out development.

As new fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher). Bath / shower room. separate toilet, lounge/diner - TV/ DVD / CD & DVD library, large balcony, private parking, and secure ski locker. Boot Drier.

This picturesque, mainly tree lined area, includes the village of Morillon Les Esserts, Les Carroz, Samoen, Sixt and Verchaud, with numerous green, blue, red and several blacks for the more experienced.
Includes the longest blue run in France known as Le Cascade (14kms) into Sixt.
There are many piste side restaurants offering local fare throughout.

SUMMER SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES
The vast and changing landscape of the French Alpes provides the most magnificent panoramic views, clean fresh air, stunning mountains and crystal clear lakes. All the traditional holiday activities are on offer from high adrenalin rushes to gentle strolls.
Morillon 1100 ( Les Esserts) is the higher village of the two, situated 4km away on the plateau of The Esserts.
The Apartment is located between 50 and 200 metres from the chair lifts, shops, and all amenities you could possibly need.

Lac Bleu Recreational Park
The recreational park of the "Lac Bleu" is located 500 metres from the low village of Morillon and there is something for every age group. Situated beside the River Giffre, its clear waters are reserved for swimming and fishing. Facilities include tennis, horse riding, children's play area, picnic areas and a bar/ restaurant. Free parking and toilets.

Mountain Biking
The lifts allow you to take your bikes with you and enjoy some of the best mountain bike paths in Europe in and arround the Grand Massif , to accommodate all levels. You can take your bike with you for you can rent a mountain bike from Morillon or Samoens. There are excursion trails on the valley floor as well as more difficult ones using the cable car systems to access them. You can also start many of the rides directly from the Morillon apartment.

These are concentrated around the Lac Bleu ad towards Samoen, where there is a swimming pool and tree walkways and other alternative facilities.

The Grand Massif / Morillon area

Morillon is a French ski and summer family resort.

It is one of the most accessible ski resorts in the French Alps, located in the Northern Alps in the Haute Savoie region between Geneva, Chamonix Mont Blanc and les Portes du Soleil ski area, Morillon is within the Grand Massif ski area, one of the greatest ski domains in France, which includes the interlinked resorts of Samoen, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine, which have a total of 265 kms of groomed runs culminating at 2565m with views of Mont Blanc and the Aiguille Du Midi. It enjoys 1000 acres of traced slopes and 75 ski lifts and the longest blue run in France (14km). Importantly queuing at lifts is minimal, even at peak times, with perhaps the exception at the top of the DMC lift in Flaine.

Morillon in winter has a range of entertainments, such as torchlight processions, giant 'tartifleettes', the carnival, clowns and concerts. On the slopes there are many super mountain restaurants for all tastes. Parapending and balloon flights are available with the Grand Massif ski area. There are snow parks in Flaine. Ski School 200m.

Only 15 mins drive to the medieval village of Sameon (one of the prettiest alpine villages)

In summer, you will enjoy the surroundings mountains with spectacular waterfalls, glaciers and exceptional fauna and flora.
Morillon offers a convenient lake with several associated activities. You also have charming pastures accessible by chairlift and tracks ideal for mountain walking and biking.

FLIGHTS AND TRANSFER AT GENEVA AIRPORT
Transfer time from Geneva airport is only 70 minutes to the apartment. book your flights early for the best possible price, we have found Easyjet or jet2.(www.easyjet.co.uk or Jet2.com) to Geneva (Cointrin) airport to be the cheapest.

CAR HIRE
Should you wish to fly to Geneva and then hire a car we recommend Holiday Autos (www.holidayautos.co.uk) as they offer great prices(be careful of the extras which can be expensive so read the contract before signing). It's best to hire a car from the Swiss side of Geneva airport. Once you have pick up your car start following the sign posts France, this will take you to the French/Swiss boarders. After going through boarder control start following the signs for Chamonix on the A40 Motorway. Take the exit of the Motorway for Cluses. Follow signs to Samoens. After the Chatillon pass, follow signs to Morillon. It takes approximately 15 minutes from the motorway exit to Morillon. Once in Morillon pick up the sign post for Les Esserts, it will take 8 minutes to reach the MGM chalet which is located on the right hand side as you reach the resort next to the chair lift.

Other airports include Chambery airport which is 100km from the apartment. Grenoble airport is 170km away and Lyon (Satolas) airport is 180km away. There are very good motorway links from all of these airports.

By Road:
Driving distance from Calais 837km (approx 9hrs)
From Calais, take A26 Motorway towards Reims and Troyes, then Dijon, Mâcon then ‘Autoroute Blanche’ Motorway (A40 Mâcon – Cluses) Exit Cluses Scionzier. Follow signs to Samoens. After the Chatillon pass, follow signs to Morillon.

BY TRAIN
TGV Paris - Geneva with a stop at Bellgarde. Journey time: 3 and a half hours.

FERRY CROSSING
Speedferries is a cheap and quick cross www.speedferries.com this take about 50 minutes and cost some where in the region of £50 for a car and five adults. This goes from Dover to Boulogne and you get to see lots of bunkers from the war.

“perfect appartment in perfect location” We have been skiing in Morillon for the last 5 years and we keep returning because we love the area so much. Having stayed at this apartment for the last 2 years we now feel we have found the perfect accomodation and have already booked for next year. It is in a great location where you can ski in and ski out. The lifts are very close by and also the ski school meeting area. The apartment is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is a pleasure to spend the evening in and cook as it is beautifully furnished and so cosey with lots of finishing touches. The sherpa supermarket is a 5 minute walk away and is very well stocked. The boot warmer is a very welcome addition, it is so lovely to put dry warm ski boots on in the mornings. Plenty of hot water and very warm. The owners are always very helpful, informative and accommodating. We are very much looking forward to next years trip.

“A perfect spot for the family who want to forget about the car for a week” We stayed here for a week with two children (7 & 9) and the apartment and resort were perfect. Being on the ground floor, it was very quick and easy to unload the car then forget about it for the week, as Les Esserts has everything you need on the doorstep. A five minute walk to main lift, Sherpa (well stocked mini-market) just one minute away, plus a pub, bakery, restaurant and hire shops all just a few minutes walk. The apartment itself suits a family of four with all the essentials plus a boot warmer, and balcony with afternoon sun as a bonus. The locker in the basement is just 16 steps down (my children counted) so skis, helmets and snowboard could be stored and retrieved with no fuss. We would definitely recommend and will be going back

“Great apartment in an excellent location” The apartment is immaculately presented and had everything we needed for the week. The location was excellent, being a very short walk to the ski lifts, ski hire shops, supermarket, bakery, shops and bar. The lifts can be seen from the balcony.The resort is family-friendly and peaceful in the evenings. It was great to be able to use the gondola to go down to the village to visit the small evening market in Morillon village. We only used the car once, to visit Samoens market, the roads were kept well-cleared, but there is really no need for a car during the stay. Wonderful green and blue pistes, especially Marvel and Cascades. Communication with the owner was excellent and they were very accommodating with respect to our late request to extend our stay. There is also an English contact locally in case of any problems. This is our third time skiing in the area and it was definitely our best experience so far.

“Great property, in perfect location” A super apartment with all we needed for our weeks stay. It was clean and presentable on our arrival, and felt very homely. The apartment is perfectly located for the slopes and amenities. We will be back!
