SUMMER SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES The vast and changing landscape of the French Alpes provides the most magnificent panoramic views, clean fresh air, stunning mountains and crystal clear lakes. All the traditional holiday activities are on offer from high adrenalin rushes to gentle strolls. Morillon 1100 ( Les Esserts) is the the higher village of the two. Situated 4km on the plateau of The Esserts. The Apartment is located 200 metres from the chair lifts shops, and all amenties you could possibly neen.
Lac Bleu Recreational Park The recreational park of the "Lac Bleu" is located 500 metres from the low village of Morillon and there is something for every age group. Situated beside the Giffre river clear waters reserved for swimming and fishing. Tennis, horse riding, children's play area, picnic areas. and a bar/ restaurant. Free parking and toilets are at your disposal.
Mountain Biking The lifts allow you to take your bikes with you and enjoy some of the best mountain bike paths in Europe in and arround the Grand Massif , to accommodate all levels. Some Airlines allow you to take your bike with you for a small cost of £10 each way or you can rent a mountain bike from Morillon or Samoens. There are excursion trails on the valley floor as well as more difficult ones using the cable car systems to access them. You can also start many of the rides directly from the Morillon apartment.

Grand Massif / Morillon area
Morillon is a french ski resort and summer resort. This is a family resort.
Located in the French Northern Alps in Haute Savoie between Geneva, Chamonix Mont Blanc and les Portes du Soleil ski area, Morillon belonging to the Grand Massif ski area.
Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine : 5 resorts united to make one of the greatest skiing domains in France.
A total of 265 km of slopes culminating at 2500 mts (views of Mont blanc) 1000 acres of traced slopes and 75 ski lifts.
So don’t hesitate any more, come and ski in the Grand Massif.
Morillon in winter also means all sorts of entertainments : like torchlight processions, giant “tartiflettes”, the carnival, clowns and concerts.
In summer, you will enjoy the surroundings mountains with spectacular waterfalls, glaciers and an exceptionnal fauna and flora. Morillon offers a convenient lake with several activities around. You also have charming pastures accessible by chairlift.
How to get there
FLIGHTS AND TRANSFER AT GENEVA AIRPORT Transfer time from Geneva airport is only 70 minutes to the apartment. book your flights early for the best possible price, we have found Easyjet or jet2.(www.easyjet.co.uk or Jet2.com) to Geneva (Cointrin) airport to be the cheapest. CAR HIRE Should you wish to fly to Geneva and then hire a car we recommend Holiday Autos (www.holidayautos.co.uk) as they offer great prices(be carefull of the extras this can be expensive read the contract before signing). It's best to hire a car from the Swiss side of Geneva airport. Once you have pick up your car start following the sign posts France, this will take you to the French/Swiss boarders. After going through boarder control start following the signs for Chamonix on the A40 Motorway. Take the exit of the Motorway for Cluses. Follow signs to Samoens. After the Chatillon pass, follow signs to Morillon. It takes approximately 15 minutes from the motorway exit to Morillon. Once in Morillon pick up the sign post for Les esserts, it will take 8 minutes to reach the MGM chalet which is located on the right hand side as you reach the resort next to the chair lift.
Other airports include Chambery airport which is 100km from the apartment. Grenoble airport is 170km away and Lyon (Satolas) airport is 180km away. There are very good motorway links from all of these airports.
By Road: Driving distance from Calais 837km (approx 9hrs) From Calais, take A26 Motorway towards Reims and Troyes, then Dijon, Mâcon then ‘Autoroute Blanche’ Motorway (A40 Mâcon – Cluses) Exit Cluses Scionzier. Follow signs to Samoens. After the Chatillon pass, follow signs to Morillon.

FERRY CROSSING Speedferries is a cheap and quick cross www.speedferries.com this take about 50 minutes and cost some where in the region of £50 for a car and five adults. This goes from Dover to Boulgne and you get to see lots of bunkers from the war.
