Perfect all year round holiday apartment situated just above Samoens, in one of the Grand Massif's rural hideaways. Excellent skiing for all abilities Christmas through to Easter, whilst in the summer months the region is transformed into an outdoor adventure playground.. cycling, walking, riding, white water rafting, canyoning, paragliding, tennis, swimming.... Although the more passive holiday maker may prefer to pass the time lounging in front of the log fire or sunning themselves in the garden, by the lake or the local outdoor pool depending on the time of year.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

A magnet for summer and winter sports enthusiasts. Particularly celebrated for its skiing, cycling and hiking. Steeped in history and character. Breathtaking verdant mountain scenery, very popular with walkers and flora and fauna lovers. Daytime winter temperatures in the valleys are generally between -5 and +5 degrees centigrade. Mid-summer temperatures average around 25 degrees.

Grand Massif / Samoens area

Samoens was recently declared winner of the Best Small Resort (Europe) by the prestigious Hardy's Skiing and Snowboarding Guide 2009, but this is by no means the whole story! A huge range of leisure activities take place in the area all year round and whether you are single, a couple or a family, you will be spoilt for choice... cycling, swimming (two lovely outdoor pools with children's slide), hiking, bird watching, paragliding, mountaineering, canyoning, white water rafting, mini golf, tennis, horse riding, assault courses in the tree tops, botany, shopping in the local markets... not to mention the packed events and entertainment calendar. There is a river running through the valley linking several small villages and lakes (one with a small beach). The village of Samoens itself is very pretty, with lots of little shops, boulangeries and places to eat.

How to get there

1 hour's drive from Geneva airport. Easyjet offer a regular direct service from 13 UK airports. Selection of car rental firms operate from the airport. Alternatively, in the ski season there is a bus transfer from the airport to Taninges with a taxi link to Samoens but bear in mind you will need a car to get around once here. Around 8 hour's drive from Calais.

Spacious contemporary 3 bedroom apartment occupying ground floor of recently converted barn. Quiet rural setting with lovely views over the valley. Accommodation is well laid out, with an open plan kitchen and breakfast bar leading onto dining and sitting room with log fire. Entrance hall with lots of cupboard space. Large utility area with washing and drying facilities.

Further details outdoors:
Exclusive use of front terrace and lawn. Lots of local walks on the doorstep.

Conditions

All rentals run from Sat 4pm to Sat 10am unless by prior agreement. Payment in advance plus returnable deposit to cover damage/breakages. Linen and towels included. A £30 surcharge per person will be charged if the apartment is not left in a clean and tidy state.
