About the home

Studio-Doina is located just 30 metres from the Telecabine and just a 2 minute walk from all amenities in the charming, unspoilt village of Morillon. Morillon has 6 good restaurants and bars, a supermarket, tourist information, ski hire, ski school, pharmacy, medical centre, patisserie, general store and cash machine. Quiet and peaceful, yet just a 5 minute drive from the busier village of Samoen only 4kms away.

On the ground floor there are two ski rental shops, and the studio has its own ski locker and larger secure storage room in the basement. Secure underground parking is also available free of charge to clients. Ideally located for both winter and summer holidays, with so much to see and do, whatever time of the year.

Single beds are in fact bunk beds. Has a fully equipped kitchen area, with dining table and chairs.

Chairlifts operate in July-September for those who do not want to walk up the mountain!

Strictly no smoking policy although smoking is permitted on the balcony only please.

Refundable breakage and key deposit required of £50, refunded once keys returned, and satisfactory property inspection.

10% non refundable deposit required to secure your booking, with final balance due 6 weeks prior to departure.


Arrival/Departure days are Saturdays.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

A beautiful unspoilt part of France in the Northern French Alps, offering so much to do both in the winter and the summer If you just want to chill then you can just relax amongst the beautiful scenery at one of the many bars and restaurants in the Giffre valley, part of the Grand Massif region. Activities include walking, cycling, mountain biking, white water rafting, horse riding,pony trekking, tennis, volleyball, Go Ape, swimming, paragliding, quad biking.

The Grand Massif is the largest ski region in France. Morillon sits on the banks of the river Giffre, surrounded by lush green countryside, with fantastic views and a warm sunny climate during the summer, with Year on Year good snow records, from December through to April.

An excellent and well established ESF Ski School, with English speaking instructors, with a Children's Creche for children aged 6 months +.

Other winter pursuits include cross country skiing, snow trekking, paragliding, ice skating dog sledging. The famous and beautiful resort of Chamonix with Mount Blanc towering over the village is only 1 hour away, well worth a visit. The Grand Massif / Morillon area

There are so many winter and summer activities within the region and so many beautiful places to visit. Winter holiday activities include 265km of linked pistes, with Grand Massif the largest ski area in France, and 80 lifts. One pass can cover the whole area which includes Flaine, Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt.

A further 110km of piste skiing in the domain of LesGets and Morzine, Port Du Soleil Region with free ski bus available. 92km of Cross Country Skiing. Weekly markets at Samoens and Morillon offering good value local produce.

Chamonix and Mount Blanc only 1 hours drive away, with the opportunity to see the glaciers and the superb views from Mount Blanc. Other winter activities include Indoor pool at Cluses just 15 kms away, Paragliding, Hang-gliding, Hot Air Ballooning at Les Carroz, walking, heli-skiing and helicopter rides.

Summer activities also include the lovely outdoor pool at Samoens, tennis, table tennis,volleyball, water sports, white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, driving range, Go Ape, fishing golf within 30 minutes drive, mini golf, and with over 400km of cycling routes, with a great selection of easy to difficult rides.

Several recreational parks within 1km, offering safe swimming, and even a small beach for the children!
Further afield you could visit beautiful Annecy, (little Venice), Geneva, and the Lake, and many more beautiful places in the Alps.

Fly to Geneva, only 1hr 20 minutes from the UK, with the Studio an easy 50 minute (55 km) drive down the motorway from Geneva Airport. Other airports include, Annecy 65km, Chambery 100km, or Lyon 180km.

Budget Airlines include Easyjet, www.easyjet.co.uk and BMI Baby, www.bmibaby.com. These 2 tend to offer the best deals, the earlier you book the cheaper the flights around £60 return if you book early, or even cheaper.

Other low cost carriers include, British Airways, Expedia, flybe.com, jet2.com and ebookers.com. All fly from major UK airports. Please ensure you book your flights to the Swiss side of Geneva Airport and NOT the French side, to save time on your arrival!

Ferries include P&O, Seafrance, Dover to Calais 90 mins, or Channel Tunnel, Folkstone to Calais in 35 mins.

All major car rental companies have desks at Geneva Airport, including Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Budget, Alamo and SIxt.

Booking on line can save time and money, I can recommend Holidayautos, www.holidayautos.co.uk and Budget, www.budget.co.uk who seem to offer the best overall package, including unlimited mileage.

A Bus service does run daily from Geneva to Morillon, approximately every 2 hours, 80 Euros, each way per person.

Taxi transfers can be arranged, costs do vary on the amount of people per vehicle. Please refer to websites,www.altservices.fr, www.taxi74.com, www.ski-lifts.com, www.alp-line.com, www.transalpes.net.
Over the last few years I have found a couple of English guys who are reliable and slightly cheaper, details can be provided on booking and request.

It is very easy to drive to and find as Morillon is one of the closest ski resorts to Geneva, with a good snow record year on year. There is so much to do in the summer too, you can do as much or as little as you want to, plenty of activities for those who want to persue outdoor fun, or just laze in the park with a bottle of wine!
