La Grange a’ Laurainne is an hour’s drive from Geneva set beside the beautiful village of Samoëns, once a thriving stone-cutting centre and the only leisure resort in France to be listed as an historical monument. The village abounds with traditional-style bars and restaurants yet still retains it's peaceful local atmosphere.
For skiers, the chalet is conveniently located less than five minutes drive from the high-speed Grande Massif Express Telecabin or 100 metres from a well served ski-bus network. For summer visitors it offers an ideal launch pad for hiking, biking, canoeing and many other leisure activities.
The chalet provides modern living in a typical Savoie farmhouse setting and is well furnished and equipped throughout. The open-plan ground floor is spacious and offers comfortable everyday living, leading onto a wood-deck patio and surrounding garden. Upstairs, the three bedrooms have double or kingsize beds, ample storage and there are two generously sized bathrooms.

La Grange a Laurainne is one of three individual wood-built chalets in a Savoie-style farmhouse setting comprising over 135 square metres of living space, as well as a garage, patio and surrounding garden.
Downstairs comprises open-plan living with a well fitted kitchen, electric oven/hob, fridge, sink unit, dishwasher and workspace. There is a large dining table with seating for eight and a comfortable adjacent lounge area. An open log fire compliments the under-floor heating and provides added warmth and atmosphere. There is a WC/cloakroom and a separate utility room for larder storage, coats and ski-ware containing washing machine, sink and fridge-freezer and there is a large attached lock-up/insulated garage.
There are three bedrooms on the upper floor. The master suite has a kingsize bed, walk-in wardrobe/storage, and en-suite bathroom with shower, basin unit and toilet. The two further bedrooms have double beds (plus inflatable double bed in the attic off the 2nd bedroom) and there is a family bathroom with jacuzzi bath and shower facility, basin unit and toilet.
The chalet comes fully equipped with bed linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, kitchenware and glassware as well as kitchen linen and cleaning materials. There is a TV and DVD and internet access can be arranged upon request.

The front door leads outside to a wood deck patio with garden to the fore as well as around to the side of the property where there is a dedicated car space and main entrance to the chalet. At the rear of the chalet is an attached garage and exit to a quiet rural road running through the hamlet of Vallon d’en Haut.
The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region


The Grande Massif includes the ski areas of Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns, Vernant, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Flaine covering over 265km of alpine slopes between 700 and 2800 metres. The area provides a tremendous variety of on and off piste skiing with good skiing in all types of weather conditions. It is the nearest large ski resort to Geneva.
In the summer the area provides a perfect natural theatre for a variety of outdoor pursuits or for simply enjoying the beauty of the mountains. The GR5 long distant hiking trail from Lake Geneva to Nice runs through Samoens with the famous Chamonix-Zermatt stretch, walked under the shadow of the great peaks from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, being a major attraction throughout the summer season - and there are always abundant less strenuous opportunities to escape to.
The Grand Massif / Samoens area
La Grange à Laurainne is situated in the ancient hamlet of Vallon d'en Haut, less than three minutes drive from the centre of Samoens, an historic village set in the beautiful Haute Giffre valley in easy distance from Geneva. Today the village and surroundings are a conservation area enjoying a charming local flavour with a wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes.
The area offers consistently good snow conditions between December and April with downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snow boarding, speedriding, snow-shoe trekking and ski mountaineering all available. La Grange a’ Laurainne is ideally situated on the bus route connecting directly to the Grand Massif Express Telecabine in Samoens less than five minutes drive away. There is also the convenience of a large car park adjacent to the Telecabine with plenty parking available.
The summer months present a range of activities popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Samoens is renowned for its mountain walks and bike trails and the wide range of sport and leisure activities immediately available including hiking, cycling and mountain biking, horse riding, paragliding, rock climbing, canoeing, water rafting, an ‘Indiana Park’ adventure assault course, tennis, swimming, golf and several more.
