Ski Chalet Hotel La Terrasse de Verchaix - If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and a lively, sociable environment, then look no further. Ideal for groups, yet also a great way for couples and singles to make new friends.
Our Ski Chalet Hotel has been beautifully refurbished, All our rooms offer en-suite facilites, many with sunny south facing balcony,or terrasse. We have a fantastic terrasse and a simply stunning location to come back to after a day on the mountain skiing the Grand Massif. Pretty, private, peaceful garden area adorned with flowers in the summer - (great for making snowmen in the winter!) ideal south facing for year round sunshine - A perfect spot to relax at the end of the day with a refreshing drink.
Philip and Louise Taylor are your hosts, and are both passionate skiers, walkers and cyclists with over 30 years experience between them in tour operations, catering and hospitality. It will be our pleasure to welcome you in spring, summer, autumn or winter and offer you a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
We have excellent acess to the slopes, plus the resorts of Morzine, Les Gets and Chamonix are within easy reach. The village is small and quiet with lovely views of the Giffre valley and Grand Massif opposite. There is a footpath that leads down from the hotel to the valley below.
Nearby is the traditional Savoyard village of Samoëns offering shops, bars restaurants and high speed access to the ski area with the new Grand Massif express gondola. Samoëns is the only ski resort to be inside a French National Park. Traditional Savoyarde dishes such as cheese fondue or tartiflette feature on our menu.
Grand Massif / Samoens near Flaine area
The ski bus terminus is just 50m from the hotel and connects with the télécabine of Morillon just 10 minutes away. From Morillon one can also access the Grand Massif ski area and the resorts of Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoëns and Sixt. Alternatively, the same journey takes just 5 minutes by car, with free parking in front of the hotel and by the telecabine in Morillon. In winter Verchaix includes:-
* 265 kms of alpine ski slopes (domain Grand Massif – Flaine, Samoëns, Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt) * 110 kms of alpine ski slopes (domain Les Gets, Morzine) * 92 kms of cross country ski slopes on two sites (Haut Giffre Valley and Col de Joux Plane) * 14 marked routes for snow shoe walks * 28 kms of marked mountain walks … and also for sleighing, dog sleigh, snow scooter and icy water falls … *weekly market year round in Samoens on Wednesday morning is not to be missed!
During the summer there is horseriding, tennis, cycling an adventure park and the Lac Bleu at Morillon is within easy walking distance. The Tour de France comes through nearby and is fantastic to see.
How to get there
Geneva International Airport is served by low cost carriers from United Kingdom (London Gatwick, London Luton, Stanstead, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Manchester etc. etc.)
The chalet hotel Terrasse de Verchiax, is an easy 50 minute drive from Geneva.When arriving at Geneva remember to exit on the Swiss side, NOT the French side.
