Les Carroz is the ideal family resort and with Claudes situated in the centre,next to the ice rink and 10 yards away from the ski bus .Baby sitting service and creche facilities are in the village. There is a children's club as well as a baby club. Les Carroz holds the "Les petite Montagnards" label for its superb children's facilities. During high season there are different activities in the town square for all ages.
CLAUDES is a 4th floor apartment (lift) within a traditional Savoyard chalet with a south/west balcony overlooking forest and the Mont Blanc mountain range. It is on the edge of the village with the ice rink, outdoor centre,shops and town square 1 minute walk. Les Carroz is both a winter and summer resort offering a wide range of outdoor activities. For those wishing a more relaxing holiday there are many street cafes, concerts and escorted / unescorted alpine flower walks.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
The Grand Massif region in the Haute Savoie is the lesser known and the least developed. The villages have maintained the old charm of the Savoyard alpine way of life, where the chalets are adorned with colourful window boxes and church bells echo across the valleys. It always amazes me how quickly the mountains burst with wild flowers so soon after the snow has melted. It is a paradise for the wild flower enthusiast, artist and walker. The air is very clear and the afternoon sun can be very strong high in the mountains with a temperature drop by early evening. However, our balcony in Les Carroz is sheltered by the mountains and is normally warm enough for all meals to be eaten outside.
Grand Massif / Les Carroz area
The old town square forms the centre of Les Carroz d'Araches which is lined with pavement cafe bars, small shops and restaurants. Nothing is too far away and a car is not essential as most items can be purchased locally. There are several ski / mountainerring hire shops as well as VTT cycle centres.The centre "Montagne Activites" - Hte Montagne, Escalade, Canyoning, Via Ferrata is located in the square. We have a cinema and three churches of which two are twelfth-century.
Lying at 1140-2500m the town offers one of the longest winter ski seasons in the Alpes. Les Carroz d'Araches Flaine, Sameons, Sixt and Morillon telecabine system allows extensive coverage of the Grand Massif region (265km) for the VTT cyclist, walker or skier. PLACES OF INTEREST WITHIN AN HOURS DRIVE; Chamonix - Telecabine Panoramic du Mont Blanc and the Mer de Glace. St Gervais and the mountain funicular railway to Aiguille du Midi. Annecy - Medieval town and the lakes for sailing / swimming Cluses - home of the clock makers with the museum.cinemas,and theatres Train station with direct service from Paris.(nearest town to Les Carroz) Italy and the Mont Blanc tunnel - medieval town of Aosta offering theatres, concerts and art galleries. Switzerland and Geneva - nearest airport to Les Carroz and a large centre for culture, theatres and exhibitions.
How to get there
The nearest airport is Geneva which has a regular Easyjet and BA service from the majority of airports in the British Isles. There are three recommended ways to reach Les Carroz from Geneva. Hire a car and have an hours drive, very strait forward route ; taxi which can be prebooked through me which is about !30 - 150 euros; bus from outside the airport which will take you to the bottom of the mountain where a minibus will take you into Les Carroz.. Once in Les Carroz a car is not required as Sabaudia is only 200m from the village centre, 20 m from the nearest shops, bars, restaurants and only 10m from the ice rink. The ideal situation makes one's stay a very easy proposition and very practical for families as well as those who wish to dine out - nothing is far from the appartement' central position in the village. The free navette ski bus stops outside the appartement. However, if one wishes to explore the surrounding towns during the rest of the year, a car is recommended, We are less than an hours drive from the Italian as well as the Swiss borders. The medeival towns of Aosta and Annecy are well worth a visit, if not an expensive one. The nearest town is Cluses which has a large Carrfour super market as well as the international train station. There is a fast train service from Paris to Cluses and the taxi company will meet you - journey time is about 30 minutes. Alternatly why not drive and make a mini holiday of the journey. Including 2 stops it normally takes us 8 1/2 hours from Calais. Dijon is about half way and there are many inexpensive places to stay en route.

bedroom one - 2 divans or 1 double (connection band) bedroom two - the mezzanine has a low ceiling with a staircase leading to it. We have 2 mattress beds in it as well as a camp bed.

The price including towels, tea towels and bath mat - single 15 euros and double 30 euros. * lift so wheel chair access possible *guide dogs only. *deposit required within 48 hrs of initial booking and confirmation. Upon receipt of confirmation full balance is required 10 weeks prior to holiday date. £300 deposit against breakage and damage to be sent prior to arrival date in separate cheque. It is client's responsibility to check the inventory sheet and to notify the agent straight away if there is any discrepancy.
