FREE SKI BUS

Bus stop 'Fermme du Soleil'.
The bus passes the front entrance to the appartment every 10 minutes. Les Carroz operates a one way system therefore allow 10 mins to base of telecabine and 3 minutes to return.

Les Carroz is the ideal family resort and with Claudes situated in the centre,next to the ice rink and 10 yards from shop & ski bus .There is baby sitting service and children's club . Les Carroz holds the "Les petite Montagnards" label for its superb children's facilities. During high season there are different activities in the town square for all ages.

CLAUDES is a 4th floor apartment (lift) within a traditional Savoyard chalet with a south/west balcony overlooking forest. and the Mont Blanc mountain range. It is on the edge of the village with the ice rink, outdoor centre,shops and town square 1 minute walk. Les Carroz is both a winter and summer resort offering a wide range of outdoor activities.
For those wishing a more relaxing holiday there are many street cafes, concerts and escorted / unescorted alpine flower walks.

Mezzanine - child's play room / extra sleeping area. It has a low ceiling with a staircase leading to it. There is child's Z chair / bed.
Balcony - table and 5 chairs.
Bathroom - shower,WC,wash basin and washing machine.
The sejour-cuisine comprises a well equipped kitchen; dining table and 5 chairs; futon double bed which during the day serves as a sofa seating 3/4 people; tallboy; toy chest and book case TV..
Entrance lobby:
The lobby containing a shoe chest and coat stand allows additional space for changing outdoor clothes and footware. The lobby is shared with our neighbours - our half is to the right and theirs to the left.

English speaking agent in the village and on call for any problems. The agency will meet my clients and direct them to the apartment where keys, and pre booked welcome pack and linen / towels are waiting for collection.

Conditions

Bed linen and towels MUST be pre - requested at time of the initial booking and will be ready for collection with the keys from the agent.

KEY COLLECTION / RETURN- The agency hours are between 8am - 8pm Monday to Saturday. Sundays and out of hours service need to be by special arrangement with the agent and will carry additional costs.

*deposit required within 48 hrs of initial booking and confirmation. Upon receipt of confirmation full balance is required 10 weeks prior to holiday date. £300 deposit against breakage and damage to be sent prior to arrival date in separate cheque. It is client's responsibility to check the inventory sheet and to notify the agent straight away if there is any discrepancy.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

The Grand Massif region in the Haute Savoie is the lesser known and the least developed. The villages have maintained the old charm of the Savoyard alpine way of life, where the chalets are adorned with colourful window boxes and church bells echo across the valleys. It always amazes me how quickly the mountains burst with wild flowers so soon after the snow has melted. It is a paradise for the wild flower enthusiast, artist and walker. The air is very clear and the afternoon sun can be very strong high in the mountains with a temperature drop by early evening. However, our balcony in Les Carroz is sheltered by the mountains and is normally warm enough for all meals to be eaten outside.

The Grand Massif / Les Carroz d'Araches area

The old town square forms the centre of Les Carroz d'Araches which is lined with pavement cafe bars, small shops and restaurants. Nothing is too far away and a car is not essential as most items can be purchased locally. There are several ski / mountainerring hire shops as well as VTT cycle centres.The centre "Montagne Activites" - Hte Montagne, Escalade, Canyoning, Via Ferrata is located in the square. We have a cinema and three churches of which two are twelfth-century.

Lying at 1140-2500m the town offers one of the longest winter ski seasons in the Alpes. Les Carroz d'Araches Flaine, Sameons, Sixt and Morillon telecabine system allows extensive coverage of the Grand Massif region (265km) for the VTT cyclist, walker or skier.

Chamonix - Telecabine Panoramic du Mont Blanc and the Mer de Glace.
St Gervais and the mountain funicular railway to Aiguille du Midi.
Annecy - Medieval town and the lakes for sailing / swimming
Cluses - home of the clock makers with the museum.cinemas,and theatres Train station with direct service from Paris.(nearest town to Les Carroz)
Italy and the Mont Blanc tunnel - medieval town of Aosta offering theatres, concerts and art galleries.
Switzerland and Geneva - nearest airport to Les Carroz and a large centre for culture, theatres and exhibitions.

How to get there

The nearest airport is Geneva which has a regular Easyjet and BA service from the majority of airports in the British Isles. There are three recommended ways to reach Les Carroz from Geneva. Hire a car and have an hours drive, very strait forward route ; taxi which can be prebooked through me which is about !30 - 150 euros; bus from outside the airport which will take you to the bottom of the mountain where a minibus will take you into Les Carroz.. Once in Les Carroz a car is not required as Sabaudia is only 200m from the village centre, 20 m from the nearest shops, bars, restaurants and only 10m from the ice rink. The ideal situation makes one's stay a very easy proposition and very practical for families as well as those who wish to dine out - nothing is far from the appartement' central position in the village. The free navette ski bus stops outside the appartement. However, if one wishes to explore the surrounding towns during the rest of the year, a car is recommended, We are less than an hours drive from the Italian as well as the Swiss borders. The medeival towns of Aosta and Annecy are well worth a visit, if not an expensive one.
The nearest town is Cluses which has a large Carrfour super market as well as the international train station. There is a fast train service from Paris to Cluses and the taxi company will meet you - journey time is about 30 minutes.
Alternatly why not drive and make a mini holiday of the journey. Including 2 stops it normally takes us 8 1/2 hours from Calais. Dijon is about half way and there are many inexpensive places to stay en route.

“GREAT FOR ALL SEASONS” I have stayed in this apartment twice in winter and once in summer. It has everything one needs but in addition has a superb view, the ski bus stops just outside, shops and the winter skating rink are just around the corner, so hot croissants take less than 5 mins to collect. In summer we were amazed at how much was going on. We went for a stage of the Tour de France at Les Gets, easily accessible by car, but there were superb guided mountain walks and some form of entertainment in the main square each evening. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED

“Great, comfortable apartment in the heart of Les Carroz” I stayed with my two teenage kids for a week at Clauds 20B. It is an excellently situated property close to the centre of the village, the ice rink and, of course, the slopes themselves. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time, the apartment is well stocked and comfortable, warm and inviting. As it is on the top floor it is very quiet, and there is an elevator for tired legs. There is a large ski boot room adjacent which provides plenty of storage. I look forward to staying at Clauds 20B again next year.

In order to allow for the reduction in mid week travel costs, the following booking format has been designed. However, according to availability further flexibility would be considered.

THE MAIN SELLING POINT IS IN THE MID WEEK CHANGE OVER;

I offer either (7 days) sat to sat or wed to wed, Alternatively (10 days at an additional cost of 120 euros/£150) sat to following wed or wed to following sat.

FLEXIBLE LONG WEEK ENDS 3/4 NIGHTS

Wed to Sat / Sat to Wed @ 2/3 rds of that weeks rental.

Cancellation Policy:

Within 10 weeks of booking confirmation - deposit returned minus £25 booking arrangement fee.

10 weeks before departure - in good faith the booking will be re advertised and if resold monies will be returned minus £50 re arrangement fee. However, please note that Late Deals are on 'special offers' and at a discount promotional price. Therefore, you may not be 100% reimbursed for the cost of your actual booking.

To secure the booking a deposit cheque (subject to seasonal rate), has to be received within 48 hours and the amount in full 10 weeks prior to arrival date. £300 deposit cheque must be sent before departure as security against damage, With the booking confirmation an inventory check list will be enclosed and it is the responsibility to notify my agent in Les Carroz if there are any discrepancies.
