Home description

This old Savoyard farmhouse, built in 1836, is at an altitude of 800 m on the sunny southern side of the slope, less than 2 km from the village of Samoëns and its ski lifts and leisure areas. The house has an exceptional view across the valley. Its setting at the end of a private road and in agricultural land ensures peace and calm.

Outside the house has not changed much since it was built, but the inside has been totally renovated in 1979 and 2006. The house has a total surface of 220 m2 on two levels It is comfortably furnished in scandinavian style and decorated with antique furniture.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Samoëns is located in the Northern French Alps. One hour from Chamonix, one hour and a half from Italy by the Mont Blanc tunnel. One hour from to Annecy, very attractive summer resort . Close also to Geneva and its beautiful lake.


Grand Massif / Samoens area

The Samoëns ski resort is part of the Grand Massif with a total of 265 km of slopes, including Flaine, Samoëns, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt Fer a Cheval.
In summer, Samoëns offers various activities : para-penting, mountain biking, water rafting, hiking, fishing. etc..Up to seven tennis courts and a public outdoor swimming pool and water park
The only winter and summer resort to be listed by the Monumets Historiques.


How to get there

Samoëns is one of the most accessible alpines resorts.
If you come by plane (Geneva Airport at 60 km. Easy Jet or other companies) or by train (Cluses at 18 km, or Annemasse at 45 km), a rental car is advisable to reach the house. There is no convenient bus or there are no ski shuttles between the house ans the village.
If you come by car: leave Motorway A 40 at Cluses (Exit 19), then follow Samoëns-Taninges-Morzine. Soon after Col de Chatillon, follow Samoëns-Morillon.

The double beds have separate mattresses. The folding cot is in one bedroom. All bedrooms are on the first floor, except the sofa bed, which is in the living room.

The house is located on a vast agricultural land of two acres. The main floor opens on the outside terraces on different places.

The person in charge of the keys and of the inventory, is British. He lives near the house and will be the contact person during the stay


Conditions

Animals are not permitted, unless by previous agreement with the owner.
Our house is not a non-smoking house, but we ask smokers to show respect and smoke outside.

Changeover day : Saturday, but could be flexible

Refundable breakages deposit of £500 required on arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
25% of rental fee due two weeks after agreement with the owner to secure booking, and balance due 4 weeks before the stay.
