La Ferme Scandinave is a tradtional Savoyard farmhouse, which has been sensitively restored by its French/Scaninavian owners. It is cosy, comfortable, well equipped, and has an electic and stylish decor, which means it is a relaxing place in which to spend time, even if the weather closes in, which it can do in the Alps. Its setting on the sunny slopes of the hills overlooking Samoens is gorgeous.
Samoens itself is a lively town, with a local community which lives here all year round, as against many ski resorts which can be quite dead in the summer. There are so many activities for adults and children of all ages to do, and they are all in the fresh Alpine air. We tried paragliding, canyoning, white water rafting and mountain biking, but if this sounds too energetic, there are walks in the mountains and along the river to suit all fitness levels. The walk from the Joux Plane car park to the Bourgeoise was a particular favourite of ours, with a magnificent view of Mont Blanc at the end.
In the evening you can of course go to one of many restaurants in the town, but we preferred to use the well equipped kitchen, and eat on the patio with the amazing views of the valleys and the mountains all around us.

My husband and two children love staying at La Ferme Scandinave and have been returning for the last three years. La Ferme Scandinave is a beautiful and stylishly renovated traditionnal savoyard farmhouse located up on the sunny coteau sud. It offers stunning views of the village and surrounding valley and Grand Massif mountain range. It is a short drive down to the village and slopes. The decor is warm and well suited to family life. Kitchen is fully equipped and so practical. we have cooked many memorable meals there experimenting with all the local delicacies. It also has a piano. We love la Ferme Scandinave and hope to be returning for many more years.
