The first floor has a large open plan living/dining area with large comfortable sofas arranged around the enclosed log fire and is equipped with TV, video and DVD player. The dining area has a large dining table set next to the French doors which open out on the large balcony equipped with table and chairs, perfect for outside dining with views along the valley. The large open plan kitchen, next to the dining area is equipped with all modern amenities - oven, dishwasher, microwave and hob.

The twin bedroom is on the first floor with its own shower room with toilet and basin next to it. The 2nd floor consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 en-suite bathroom and separate bathroom. The 2 double bedrooms at the front of the property lead onto a balcony offering lovely views of the surrounding mountains. The 3rd double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and is located at the back of the chalet with stunning views of ‘Le Criou’.

Our prices include all linen and towels and end of stay cleaning. The beds are made up prior to arrival and a welcome hamper is provided so you do not need to rush to the shops on arrival. We have a discounted rate, for our clients, at two of the main ski shops in the village which also allow you to leave your skis and boots in their shops over night to save the hassle of walking home in ski boots carrying your skis. We are also on hand throughout your holiday to assist with all aspects of your holiday.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Morillon is set in one of the most beautiful areas in the Haute Savoie Region with fantastic facilities on your doorstep both in summer and winter.

For the skiing enthusiast Morillon has some of the best snow records in the Alps in recent years and is linked with the Grand Massif, one of the greatest skiing domains in France including Flaine, Samoens, Lez Carroz and Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval. However, if you wanted to go further a field Morillon is only a 40 minute drive away from the famous Chamonix Mont Blanc where, for the extremely adventurous amongst you, you can ski the famous Vallee Blanche which is an off-piste ski route, 17km long with a vertical descent of 2800m. The views are stunning and the high mountain environment provides a real sensation of wilderness. This is one of those memorable life experiences. A mountain guide is essential if you fancy doing this trip. With just a 20 minute drive to Les Gets or 30 minutes to Morzine from Morillon you can also ski in the Portes du Soleil. But with the Grand Massif within walking distance from the Chalet you have 265km of pistes to keep you busy.

In the summer the surrounding area is filled with amazing flora and fauna and within driving distance there are many beautiful classic Savoyard towns and villages to visit. A 45 minute drive will take you to Annecy where you can visit one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe, where you can have lunch or dinner dance on the luxury boat La Libellule whilst enjoying the amazing scenery. With its lovely castle, canal walks, shops, restaurants and historic entertainment a visit to Annecy is a must.

Within an hours drive you can also visit Switzerland and Italy

Grand Massif / Morillon area

Morillon village was built up around the 16th century church of St Chrisophe and Town Hall. There are guided tours through the village every Thursday at 1030am. Morillon prides itself for being awarded the ‘Famille Plus’ award which is the unique national tourism label to approve the facilities and services available to families with children, it is recognised by the French ministry of tourism. Morillon has numerous activities arranged by the tourist office for families both in winter and summer. During both the summer and winter seasons there is an outdoor market in the centre of the village where you can buy all the local produce including cheese, salami, wine and you can also try the famous tartiflette from the Savoyard region. The village has many bars and restaurants catering for all tastes from the local Savoyard food to fantastic pizzas. Just 3km away is the historic town of Samoens with its beautiful market square and botanical gardens in the centre. Also just a few minutes past Samoens is Sixt Fer a Cheval where you will find some amazing walks taking in some of the most fantastic views of the many waterfalls.

Winter:

Morillon is part of the Grand Massif ski area which has 265km of pistes and suits everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. The ski school is based in Morillon 1100 which is accessible by telecabine or road. There is also a ‘Garderie d’Enfants’ or Children’s Village which takes children from 6 months to 10 years with ski initiation from 3 years. Situated in Morillon 1100 the children’s village is in the heart of the resort allowing you to drop the kiddies off on your way to the slopes.

As well as alpine skiing there is also cross country skiing available with 66 km of tracks by the river bank between Morillon and Sixt and another 28.5km at the Col de Jouz Plagne (1800m facing Mont Blanc) and snow shoe enthusiast will find 62km of tracks through the forests. For those non-skiers amongst you there is also dog-sledging, paragliding and helicopter rides over the Grand Massif or Mont Blanc available throughout the winter season.

Summer:

Morillon is not just a winter season resort. During the summer season the Giffre Valley comes to life with its amazing flora and fauna. There are numerous activities available to you for the young and old. Morillon has its own beach located at the edge of the ‘Lac Bleu’ recreational park, which has the largest sandy bottom lake in Europe. The lake is available for swimming and fishing and along side the lake you can find tennis, horse riding, petanque and a fantastic 3 tiered adventure tour of the trees around the lake for children and young at heart. The highest level takes you on a high wire death slide across the lake and back.

Mountain biking is extremely popular in the Grand Massif area and it boasts some of the best trails in Europe. There are trails for all levels both on the valley floor and up in the mountains where you can use the chairlifts to access them.

The tourist office in Samoens, just 3km away along the valley, organizes some fantastic packages for children during the summer where in one week they can try out 5 different activities including climbing, canyoning, pot-holing, white water rafting and hiking.

The area has so much to offer for families and individuals of all ages who are seeking adventure or alternatively just sheer relaxation in beautiful surroundings. For more information on all the above please look at the web site of the Tourist office www.ot-morillon.fr
