About the home

We are located just 3 minutes' walk from the beautiful square in the centre of the traditional Savoyard village of Samoëns. The house can comfortably sleep 14 people spread through 5 bedrooms and a mezzanine. In additiona there is a folding bed and a travel cot. We also offer reduced rates for groups up to 10 in number. There's a spacious, well-equipped kitchen and a large lounge/dining room with dining table for 14 people. The Satellite TV gives you both English and French channels. We also have a DVD player.
The house is centrally heated and as it faces South, it gets ample sunshine.

Our house is nicely decorated which gives it a homely feel.
On the ground floor is the master bedroom with twin beds and a double-bunk.
On the first floor, there are two twin-bedrooms and a room with a double-bunk.
On the second floor, there is a twin-bedroom and a mezzanine/loft area with twin beds. (This floor is not available for groups up to 10 in number who are taking advantage of a reduced rate).
Each floor has a toilet, basin and shower plus there's a bath on the first floor.

We have a balcony facing East and South on the first floor and a small one facing South on the second floor.
There is off-street parking space right next to the house.
You can walk to the Grand Massif Express chair lift in 10-15 mins on flat ground, or there is a ski-bus which stops very near our house.

We offer towel and linen rental through our agent in Samoens.
The prices quoted do not include cleaning of the chalet.
If you would like the Chalet to be cleaned after your departure there is an additional charge payable to our agent in Samoëns. Otherwise, it is your responsibility to leave the chalet as clean as you found it. The return of your deposit depends on this.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

At the heart of the Haute Savoie between Geneva and Mont Blanc, Le Grand Massif ski area has a lot to offer skiers of all ages and abilities. Skiing is varied and has great off piste slopes, but all levels will find some good skiing. Samoens and the Grand Massif ski area is flanked by Chamonix and Portes du Soleil.

The Grand Massif / Samoens area

Samoens is the only "historically listed" ski resort in France, due to the beauty of its medieval architecture. It is the only ski area in France designated as a national park. The ski season in Samoens lasts from December until late April, although the ski lifts remain in operation all year round for hikers and mountain bikers.
Samoens has been awarded the Coq D'Or for it being one of the most beautiful villages in France and is also a "village fleurie".
With access to 256km of downhill skiing, Samoens is ideal for the majority of skiing holidays. Samoens and the Grand Massif ski area are the perfect alpine location- they are snow-sure during the winter, and enjoy warm days during the summer months. The snowboard park is popular as is the Heli Skiing. There is also telemark and snowshoeing.
Close by you will find the interesting Ecomuseum Farm le Clos Parchet, which is an insight to the workings of an ancient farm.
A 'Grand Site de France', Sixt Fer a Cheval is only 6km from Samoens. There you can enjoy a wide variety of geological marvels, especially the Cirque du Fer a Cheval, the Cascade du Rouget and the Desert de Plate.
This area is wonderful for hiking in Summer. You can also get involved in adventure sports!
The recreational park of the "Lac Bleu" situated at the very centre of nearby Morillon offers a multitude of activities for each age: fishing, swimming, tennis, mini-golf, horse riding, petanque and so on. Fun for everybody.

By Air:
Fly to Geneva with Ezyjet or another discount airline.

Collect your rental car at the airport: You can choose a French car from the French side or a Swiss car from the Swiss side. If you use the motorway A40 to go to Samoens or return to the airport and are in a French car, you may have to pay the Swiss road tax.

By Car:
Head for Chamonix using the A40 until exit 18 where you head for Cluses. From there you go to Taninges, Verchaix or Morillon and on to Samoens.
