Home description
This MGM apartment is new (2005), well-equipped, and the decor is traditional alpine, with pine furniture.
There are 2 bedrooms, one is a double with wardrobe, and the other 2 singles with wardrobe. There is a bathroom with bath/shower, and a separate toilet. The kitchen has plenty of work surface with a kitchen/bar area adjacent. This gives plenty of room to prepare the meals. The table has 6 chairs and is next to the pine doors that open onto the balcony. There is a lovely view of the Les Carroz Pistes (the Gron, the Coombe and the Arete on your piste map). The lounge has a big corner sofa and chair for everyone to relax, have a read, or watch a DVD.
The apartment is on the first floor, with lift access. There is a ski locker downstairs and there is a shuttle bus every 10 minutes in the ski season to whick you up to the village (2 mins), and then the telecabine (another 2 mins). The telecabine takes 6 minutes to take you up to the Les Carroz Station where you can ski the whole Grand Massif (Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoens, Morrilon, and Sixt).
The chalet is opposite the sports complex, with 8 tennis courts, badminton, basketball pitch, volley-ball sand court, 4 swimming pools, including the 25m pool, and water slides. There is a huge grass pitch next to the pools for sunbathing and playing. This makes the chalet an all year round location with easy access to winter and summer activities.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region
Les Carroz d'Arraches is in the Haute Savioe, the Northern part of the French Alps. It makes it one of the most accessible areas in the Alps due to its close proximity to Geneva. The Climate in the mountains is quite variable day to day, but generally it is a colder winter than England, and a hotter summer. The Alps are snow covered from December to April, and basking in sunshine from June to September. You must be prepared for more extreme weather, and faster weather fronts in the mountains, so always go well equipped. Geneva is the closest city, and is on the edge of the large Lake Leman. The real spectacle of the French Alps is just 30 minutes down the Autoroute from Les Carroz, and is CHAMONIX. It is bursting with activity, all year round, and sits at the base of the Mont Blanc Massive, with the mountain itself standing some 4800metres above sea level. There are gondolas, telecabines, tramways and trains to take you up as high as you dare, the highest being the Aguille de midi, a pinnacle at over 4000metres.
Grand Massif / Les Carroz area
Locally, there are the other resorts around the Grand Massive, like Morillon, Les Gets, Morzine, and Megeve, and these are a variation on the alpine theme, both in winter and summer. Winter in Les Carroz- ski-ing the one of the longest runs in Europe from Flaine down to Le Sixt. Watching the Flambee Descente (nightime skiers with flames). Free Mulled wine in the village. Santa ski-ing with his postmen. Ice carving in the village square. Eating out in traditional Savoyarde style means rachlettes, cheesy fondues, and plenty of cheese, ham and wine! Summer - don't miss the hot air balloons which take off from the square in summer and winter. There are still entertainments in the village with markets, car-boot sales, and wooden games and shows. Visit the lakes at Morillon, Montriand, Annecy and Passy. Go for some breath taking walks. telecabines open, so walk down or mountainbike downhill. Theres also the VTT, mountainbiking, road cycling, and the tour de France. Then all the previously mentioned swimming. tennis and activities in the sports complex.
