PureChalets specialise in offering fully catered ski & snowboarding holidays in the charming alpine village of Samoens. We also offer a range of catering options in the Summer. The company is privately run and owned by Andy & Liz. We have created a warm atmosphere to ensure that you enjoy a relaxing & stress-free holiday, and the chalet is ideal for families.

Chalet Orion is our brand new catered chalet. It is located in an ideal position around 200m from the town centre, one of the best located chalets in Samoens, with breath-taking views of the village and mountains.

Breakfast and afternoon tea with homemade cakes is served every day of your stay. A delicious four-course evening meal with quality wines is served on six of the seven nights you are with us. Chalet Orion has plenty of après ski entertainment on site - a luxury four seater hot-tub with amazing mountain views, a Wii console and an honesty bar.

Samoens is one of the most beautiful villages in France. Part of the Grand Massif ski area, which connects five resorts including Flaine, Samoens is on the doorstep of an awesome 265km of pistes, starting at 1600m and rising to 2500m. The chalet is in a great location, less than a 15 minute walk to the main Grand Massif Express lift and only a 2 minute walk to the centre of Samoens. Geneva airport is just one hour away and we offer a transfer service to get you to and from the airport.

Facilities

We sleep up to 14 guests in five en suite bedrooms situated over three floors. There are two twin or double rooms on the ground floor, one on the first floor and 2 on the second floor. There are two family rooms with double beds and bunk beds. All of the double beds are King size. Two of the rooms have balconies with amazing views. All the beds are dressed in luxury duvets and pillows and fluffy towels are provided. We provide you with luxury Elemis toiletries throughout your stay. Whilst you are out enjoying the snow, your rooms will be kept spotlessly clean. The luxury bathrooms have power showers, underfloor heating and heated towel rails.

There is a large homely open plan lounge and dining area, with a wooden-beamed ceiling - the central feature is a warming log fire. After a days skiing or boarding you can sit back and relax in our cosy snug area, with comfortable deep leather sofas, and underfloor heating. We have a large TV with satellite, a good range of DVDs, Wii a library of books and plenty of board games for you to enjoy. There is also a well stocked bar that we run on an honesty basis. There is WiFi available throughout the chalet.

There is a fantastic large fitted kitchen with dishwasher, oven, and large fridge and freezer, plus everything you could need!

On the balcony at the front of the chalet, we have a luxury 4-seater hot-tub which has stunning views over the village and mountains. There is a BBQ for the summer, outside furniture and a lockable garage for bikes.

There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for your use, and we can provide you with travel cots and high chairs if necessary.

We operate a no smoking policy within the chalet.

Chalet Orion has balconies from all of the South facing bedrooms with fantastic panoramic views. On the main terrace there is a 4-seater hot-tub. Great for relaxing and taking in the beautiful scenery.
There is a large BBQ and outside furniture.
There is parking at the front of the chalet for 2 cars.

The Rhone / French Alps / Haute-Savoie region

Samoens and the Grand Massif ski area are the perfect alpine location- they are snow-sure during the winter, and enjoy warm days during the summer months.
The town of Chamonix is only a 40 minute drive away, Annecy and its beautiful lake is less than an hour away, and Geneva in Switzerland is only a 50 minute drive away.

The Grand Massif / Samoens area

Samoens is the only "historically listed" ski resort in France, due to the beauty of its medieval architecture, and it has many authentic French bars, shops and restaurants - it has been officially recognised as one of the prettiest villages in France. Unlike most ski resorts, it has a tranquil and peaceful village centre.

For winter, Samoens, together with the other villages of Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt, forms part of the Grand Massif ski area. Samoens offers direct access to fabulous skiing, starting at 1600m and rising to 2500m, with over 265km of pistes,

For summer, Chalet Orion is close to the leisure park in Samoens - here there is a large outdoor swimming pool, lakes, tennis courts and adventure climbing. In summer, the things to do in Samoens are endless - biking, climbing, walking, rafting, canoeing, parapenting or Via Ferrata! There is also an 18 hole golf course 20 minutes drive away and an ice rink in the centre of Samoens.

There are many traditional shops and restaurants, where you can enjoy a wide range of food from traditional fondues and raclettes to fine dining. There is a charming weekly market every Wednesday.

-Samoens is ideally situated, less than an hour drive away from Geneva airport.
-Cheap flights are available to Geneva from many UK destinations on budget airlines, check out Easyjet.
-Transfers from Geneva airport are available from 30 euros per person.
-Alternatively, drive to Samoens from Calais. We are one of the most accessible alpine resorts, and we can be reached in less than 8 hours by car.

“fabulous” We had a wonderful stay here. The chalet is very roomy clean and bright. Only problem was not having access to a washing machine during the summer break( there were 6 of us), otherwise superb. Loved the hot tub. Andy and Liz(owners) very helpful and gave excellent advice on what to do in the area. 5 minute walk to the village which has lovely restaurants (hill involved). opportunities for cycling, tennis, and a swimming pool within the village. Well-stocked supermarket. easy access (by car) to surrounding villages. We took part in white water rafting, local walks with stunning scenery and visited Chamonix (less than an hour away by car) where you can visit ice caves. Would be very happy to go back.
