The Costa Tropical/Granada region
Located at the foot of Sierra Nevada, Granada has one of the biggest cultural heritages in the country. Besides the world famous Alhambra and Albayzín district, designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Granada also has a Renaissance cathedral which was begun in the sixteenth century. Many other monuments are dotted around the city in each of its corners. Granada has a Mediterranean continental climate. Temperatures are cool in winter, with frost, and hot in summer.
Granada area
Granada is a city of monuments, with hints at the Muslim past throughout the city. In addition to the Alhambra, known throughout the world, there is also the Cathedral, Capilla Real, Monasterio de la Cartuja, Monastery of San Jerónimo, Parque de las Ciencias, as well as various museums and gardens.
Grenadine cuisine is rich and varied. It certainly provides another reason for visiting the city. Granada has many restaurants and bars. In Grenada there is "the art of tapas", meaning that bars offer a free cover.
Albaicin highlights include the Campo del Principe, Realejo, Bullring and Central Zone
