The Andalucia / Granada Province region

Granada is the most popular Spanish city break with the stunning Moorish Palace, the Al Hambra the main attraction but spectacular architecture, plazas & cathedrals offer great sightseeing throughout the city. El Albacin is the Moorish quarter of the city offering shopping in the local bazaars, complimentary tapas in many of the bars - it's a fabulous area to wander through & soak up the atmosphere.
A fantastic way to explore is the popular double decker buses or just on foot.
Further a field an hour's drive will deliver you at the coast for beaches if you prefer sand with your sun. The beautiful city of Seville is also not far in the opposite direction.
The Granada area
The property is located on the hill over looking the village but is just a short walk downhill to all the amenities. The village offers authentic tapas bars, a cafes and restaurants all within walking distance. The local supermarket is well stocked if you prefer to self-cater. Further a field but only short drives are more restaurant options. Iznalloz is a typical Spanish village offering bus & train services to Granada so a car is not essential but to explore further afield at your leisure we recommend hiring a car. There is also a local taxi service, the number is at the apartment. Nearby is a lake offering sailing, golfing & lakeside dining.
The Sierra Nevada's only 30 mins drive away, offer year round outdoor activities. Skiing is the main attraction in the winter months.

When looking for a peaceful getaway you are never too sure whether the accommodation description will ever match up on arrival but Alex and Parish's detailed Iznalloz pack was filled with informative and interesting information on their apartment and the surrounding area. The property was extremely spacious, light and clean, with a large kitchen with the two good size bedrooms and a family size bathroom. There are patio doors leading to the rear veranda from the living room and kitchen, so easy access to the pool and gardens. The best and the by far my favourite room of the house is the roof terrace where you have panoramic views of the ore inspiring Sierra Nevada mountains. Also you can watch the sun set whilst sampling a glass of Spain's finest wine from one of the neighbouring vine yards. If I had to state any questionable factors with regards to vacationing here then it would lie with myself, as when trying to converse with the friendly locals my pigeon Spanish was not quite up to scratch. Therefore I would highly recommend this Iznalloz accommodation to friends, family and anyone that wants a relaxing stay in a traditional Spanish setting. |

This is a lovely property that is split over three floors and has generously sized bedrooms. The whole house is kitted out with modern furniture, very comfy beds and sofa, with a generous dining area and a really well stocked kitchen with a large fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. I really liked the fact that it felt like home from home - there were pictures and mirrors on the walls and lamps to help give the place a cozy feel. The bathroom was fitted to a high specification. The property also has a roof terrace, which is perfect for letting young children play outside safely but without the worry they may fall in the pool! The properties in this small complex are built in a u-shape with a well-tended grassed area - complete with palm trees - in the centre. There are two pools, one shallow one for younger children. The whole time we were there, we were the only ones using the pool! It was lovely and quiet. You really need to hire a car as it is about 20 or so minutes from Granada. I think there is a train station but we didn't try it out. There are two supermarkets within easy walking distance, so if you were looking for a quiet place to stay put without sightseeing, then you wouldn't need a car, just taxis to and from the airport. We tended to eat at the property in the evenings, so I'm not sure what the town was like at night time but it looked quiet and tranquil with no noisy bars. It is quite a steep walk back from the town, so it might be a struggle for those in wheelchairs. The property has been well cared for and thoughtfully decorated and furnished - I would defintely recommend it. Visiting The Alhambra is an absolute must too! |

The apartment is located in a small town just outside of Granada in a modern development with well cared for grounds and a spectacular view of the Sierra Nevada. It is a very spacious and nicely decorated and furnished with a fantastic roof terrace to view the scenery and amazing sunsets. Iznallozis is not a well-known tourist destination in its self, this give the visitor a taste of real Spanish life. We found the locals to be very friendly and accommodating for out very poor attempts at Spanish. Izoalloniz is however very well placed for easy access to some of Spain's top tourist spots with Granada, the Sierra Nevada and the beaches of the Costa Tropica all being within easy reach by car. The main purpose of our visit was some peace and quiet and relaxation while I revised for the exam and some down time for my partner, we not disappointed. We hope to return again soon for a proper holiday without the revision. |
Guestbook for Iznalloz Townhouse
We had a great time - lounging by the pool, the kids even swam despite Oct temps! We had a fun day in the beautiful Sierra Nevada's. We all loved the Al Hambra - magical, the kids thought they were in some kind of fairy palace! A perfect base for a perfect holiday!

A beautifully furnished place, perfectly located to explore Granada & the locality - we loved it, especially lounging on the roof terrace soaking up the views, washed down with the local vino!
