Fully equipped 1 bedroom apartment with views of the Cathedral and terrace in the the center of the old city. Only 100m from from the Cathedral and 20 minutes walk from the Alhambra. The apartment is suitable for 2 people but can sleep 4. Has an open living room-kitchen which is fully equipped and luxury bathroom. Excellent location near the open market, from where you can go on foot to every place of the city. The terrace is perfect for alfresco dining.

There are two Hamman nearby the apartment. Don't forget to visit the bars in Calle Navas, Plaza Nueva, Calle Elvira and the Albayzin, the charming old Moorish quarter of Granada, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Andalucia region

Granada belong to the eastern Andalucia also called "high Andalucia" because of its montanious character. This produces a less rainy weather as you go east (the extreme is Tabernas desert in Almeria). We have to highest mountains South Spain. The southernmost sky resort in Europe -Sierra Nevada- and Alpujarras at the south part of this mountains chain.

Alpujarras is an area of villages 60km away Granada, made famous by books such as 'South from Granada' (Gerald Brenan) or recently 'Driving over Lemons' by Chris Stewart.


Location is perfect for shopping and to go out for 'tapas'. Tapas is food they serve with your drinks and it is completely free -only in Granada and few more cities. It is a 5 minute walk from the nearest bus stop and from the main historical buildings (La Catedral, La Capilla Real, La Madraza, La Alhambra, Hospital/Iglesia de San Juan de Dios, Monasterio de San Jerónimo etc.). The train station is near the center too.

"Perfect surroundings for a stay in Granada"

We stayed in the flat for four nights. Coming to Granada by car Jesus suggested to meet at his house where we could park without payment. He drove us to the city center, the last few metres we had to go by foot, and picked us up the last day to bring us back to our car.
Having a lot of luggage and coming home after strolling through Granada for hours we highly appreciated the elevator. The roof terrace was a wonderful place to relax and have tea (but keep in mind that you can lock yourself out when the door slams shut).
The apartment is situated in a very quiet street in the pedestrian area, therefore we slept comfortaby. But just around the corner you are in the middle of squares - full of life, restaurants, shops and people. On the first morning we went to the pasteleria nearby to buy bread, but then we ended up in a typical bar and tasted "tostados con tomate", the Spanish breakfast.
Alhambra, Albayzin, Catedral - nearly everything is in walking distance. So we could taste tapas and wine. Jesus' recommendations were very helpful. The Alhambra was really a gem. When you book the tickets in advance, you can pick them up at the Alhambra bookshop in the city (i.e. the day before your visit, there is a printing machine) and use a nearer gate. Parts of the Alhambra you can visit without a ticket. So you may come a bit earlier when you have an afternoon ticket to stroll around before visiting the parts with limited access.
We prefer to eat where the locals go to and recommend Los Diamantes II (normally you have to stand, there are only a few chairs and lots of people) and Oliver (the bar; the restaurant - Jesus hadn't recommend it - was a bit disappointing).
For us it was the perfect place to scout out Granada. We enjoyed our stay very much thanks to our fabulous hosts.

We allways offer to park where we live now, and bring our guest in our car. That way you avoid the costs of parking in the town center.
Granada can be visited without car and the location of the apartment is one of its best points. You can walk to every interesting place, including the Alhambra.

"Fabulous Stay in Granada"

We loved our stay in Granada and this centrally located, charming, clean and well equipped apartment was a big part of it. Jesus was great in communicating with us and giving us some highlights and information once we arrived. So grateful that he advised us to book Alhambra tickets ahead of time because we would have had a long wait otherwise. We did not have a car and we did not need one. We cooked here, cleaned clothes, loved eating dinners on the open terrace with views of the mountains and cathedral. We have two young girls and everyone enjoyed our stay here.

The location -a little street without noisy businesses- and the big terrace are two of the points my wife and I miss very much. We were living there for about two years. We are pleased our guests enjoy this points too.

"Do not pass this place up!"

I knew that after corresponding with our most gracious hosts, Jesus and Eva, before our trip, that we were going to enjoy our stay at their apartment, but I wasn't prepared for how much. The apartment itself is beautiful (pictures don't really do it justice) with a huge outdoor patio I wished we had used more, spotless, and in a great area of town. It is well cared for and nicely updated. While it accommodated our family of five (one infant and children ages 3 and 6) nicely, some with a family that large would prefer more space. We were fine with it, though, and would go back in a heartbeat. Follow Jesus' recommendations about parking. You don't want to park in the city. Loved the beautiful view of the cathedral from the patio and the notebook full of helpful tourist information and recommendations. Very close to great restaurants and within walking distance to la Alhambra and el Albaicin although the walk up to la Alhambra is a steep one, but we did it. This is one of the best apartments we have ever stayed in, and we will be recommending it to everyone.

Our apartment is for four people but in this case, one of them was a -very nice!- baby so we provided the cot we have for our guests.
