Outside the villa benefits from its own 7m private pool, with a shallow end perfect for the children. The 4 terraces have garden and pool furniture and are lovely places for watching the sunrise and sunset over the surrounding hills, al fresco dining or just lazing by the pool. Perfect for all the family.
The location is ideal for visiting the many historic towns on the route of the Caliphate such as Cordoba, Alcala Real, Moclin and Montefrio. Villa Casa La Cantora is located on the outskirts of the town of Puerto Lope. Quiet and peaceful, yet only fifteen minutes from the larger towns such as Alcala Real and Pinos Puente.
Excellent golf course within 25 km. Situated 30km from the Sierra Nevada the villa is ideal for walkers and hikers during Spring and Autumn and for skiers in the winter. There are many tracks through the olive groves which are ideal for mountain bikers. This is an all year round villa.

The Costa Tropical/Granada region
Granada was the capital of the last Muslim kingdom in the Iberian Peninsula, the Hispano - Muslim civilizaton lasting for eight centuries and as such boasts magnificent architecture and places of interest such as the Alhambra palace. The city is also wonderful for shopping and relaxing in the many piazzas which have pavement cafes and restaurants in abundance!
A half hour drive from Granada city lies the Sierra Nevada mountains. Spring and Autumn are ideal for walking/hiking or trekking and it is a well established ski resort for the winter months. It is a 45 minute drive from Granada down to the costa tropical coast, with Almunecar, Salobrena and La Herradura being the main resorts. The temperature in this area rarely falls below 12 degrees with midday summer temperatures rising well above 30.

GOLF: 18 holes in Sierra Elvira 20 minutes drive from the villa.
SKIING: The Sierra Nevada is approximately one hours drive from Montesol. This is a popular ski resort, and is the most Southerly in Europe. In the ski season it can be used to its fullest extent in the morning, with a return to Montesol and a dip in the pool in the afternoon!
Puerto Lope has banking facilities, mini-market, bakers, Hotel and bars. Pinos Puente (10km) has a supermarket, pharmacy, shops, bars and restaurants. Alcala La Real, has both Lidl and Mercadona supermarkets. This is a good size town, with parks, and a weekly market. Granada has a great market on a Sunday morning, near the coach station. There are 2 internet cafes in Alcala la Real and 2 in Illora. These small towns are about 10 kilometres away.
The local towns of Moclin and Alcala La Real are historic fortified settlements along the route of the Caliphs which ran between the two most important towns of Hispano-Muslim history-Cordoba and Granada. The picturesque town of Montefrio and Pinos Puente, with it's origins in Roman times, are also well worth a visit and are within easy driving distance through rolling olive grove countryside.
There is an extensive calendar of events and feasts throughout the year along the route of the Caliphs. Easter time is particularly spectacular with magnificent processions through the towns. Further afield Cordoba is a 90 minute drive north from the villa and is well worth a visit. The Mezquita, Cordoba's great Mosque dates back 12 centuries, Cordoba at the time being one of the western world's greatest cities.

Cheap flights with Ryanair from Stanstead, Gatwick and Liverpool to Granada. Granada airport 25 mins drive.
