The Andalucia region

Granada is located on a plain at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains with its ski resorts and only about 30 minutes away from the Alpujarras with opportunities there for hiking. The coast with beaches and resorts is about one hour away. Granada itself has played a significant role in the past and has a diverse range of monumental architecture to reflect this. The jewel in the crown however is the Alhambra Palace located on a hill on across the valley from the Albaicyn. This gem of Moorish architecture delicately decorated with geometric tiles and intricate plasterwork and placed within its own oasis of gardens attracts visitors from all over the world.

Granada

The house is located within the walking lanes of the medieval area of the Albaicyn. Immediately in front is a viewing platform for the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond and only five minutes walk away is a street filled with tea shops and small boutiques. Head down the hill and again within five minutes you are on the banks of the Dauro river with its ancient stone bridges and cobbled lane and right next to Plaza Nueva which is the central area for the tourist quarter of Granada.
