The Andalucia / Granada Province region

Andalucia includes the most southern provinces of Spain. It is vast and diverse from the mountains to the coastal areas including the Costa del Sol, and the famous cities of Grenada, Cordoba, Seville and Malaga. It is an all year holiday area with cool nights and sunny days in the winter and hot, sunny weather in the summer. Loja is about a 15 min drive from Fuente Camacho and is the administrative centre for the area. The town has many historic buildings and churches of interest and is well worth a visit. Antequerra is about a 20 min drive away and is the jewel in the crown of the area. It has always been a religious centre and has many churches and convents of interest as well as a Moorish castle. It is also a busy market town and shopping centre with many nice eating places. Grenada takes about 1 hour in the car and is everything you expect of this beautiful city. The history, the Cathedral and the famous Moorish buildings of the Alhambra, the setting is magnificent. Remember to book in advance for your visit to the Alhambra.
The Granada / Fuente Camacho area
Although to holiday in our cottage is about the peace and tranquility it offers, Andalucia and the Grenada region is a wonderful area to explore. Rural Spain is a magical place with its white-washed villages and sights from a bygone era, when the pace of life was slow, are still there to be seen. The Spanish people are very welcomimg, as you will find out with our Spanish neighbours. Get a restaurant early for lunch on a Sunday as they get very busy with large family gatherings.

| Airport: | Malaga or Grenada: 50 km |
Flying to Southern Spain has never been easier. We normally fly by the low cost airlines, Easyjet or Fly Globespan which operates for both Glasgow and Edinburgh to Malaga. Malaga, the main airport for the region , handles most low cost airlines from most UK airports. Ryanair now flies directly to Grenada, which is equidistant from our country cottage. We hire a car at Malaga from Holiday Golf Rent a Car, a family company that we have dealt with for many years. The journey to Fuente Camacho takes approximately 45 mins.
