About the home
One of two apartments we converted in 2009. Our privileged central position really will allow you to make the most of your stay in Granada. Plaza Nueva is the historic centre of the city, situated between the Alhambra and the Albayzin (the old Moorish quarter). Although not far from the hustle and bustle of the centre and the cathedral, the property nestles in a residential pedestrian street beneath the outer wall of the Alhambra close to its woods. It is a tranquil neighbourhood where bird song replaces car horns!
Richard and Esperanza, the English/Spanish owners, have lived for over 20 years in the property, and being close at hand are more than happy to share their extensive local knowledge: whether it be to recommend restaurants and bars, the best flamenco clubs, or essential info. regarding visits to the Alhambra and other historical sites.
Richard is a producer of local cultural events, so can keep you well informed in this respect.
If you are keen on walking/hiking/biking, we can suggest some wonderful trails that lead up above the Alhambra, or along by the river through Sacromonte.

The apartment is perfect for a couple, although the double sofa bed in the living room is ideal for children, or an adult for a shorter stay.
The decoration of the flat includes original art work of the owner Esperanza, an internationally working artist, who has her studio off the patio area.
There is continuous hot water and electric radiator heating in winter.
There is no air conditioning in this flat because it doesn't need it! Being on the ground floor, and with the house set in to the hill behind, the apartment stays naturally cool in our hot summers.

There is a section of the patio with table and chairs available for your exclusive use. Ideal for breakfast, or for a relaxing glass of wine in the evening! Also useful for smokers...the apartment is NO SMOKING...not the patio!
Unfortunately our apartments are not suitable for people with serious mobility problems. The cobbled lane leading up to the house has 45 steps...
Note that we are very centrally situated, so you will not need a car to visit Granada. If you do come by car we can recommend a well priced car park.
Conditions
To secure a booking we require a non-returnable deposit of 25% of the total booking fee. This can be paid via Paypal or bank transfer. The remainder of the fee is paid in cash on arrival.
There are no extra fees to the price that will be quoted. ie no breakage deposits, or cleaning extras.

Add to this the underlying friendliness and outgoing nature of the andalusians and their way of life, and we have the ideal destination for a discerning traveller.
The Granada / Central Granada area
Granada's history and natural beauty make it one of the most interesting cities to visit. The incredible Alhambra, with its fortress, palaces and gardens, is the crowning monument to the 700 year Moslem presence in Andalucia.
But the Alhambra is just one of many historical sites in Granada. The beautiful churches, monasteries, palaces and gardens are too numerous to describe here! However, it is not only the individual monuments that are Granada's attraction. To simply wander through the ancient moorish quarters of the Albayzin and Realejo is a treat in itself!
Add to this the fact that the 500 year old University's 60,000 students lend a young and vital aspect to Granada's character. The vibrant night-life, the numerous tapas bars, live flamenco and other music,are not to be missed.
There is excellent skiing 5 months of the year in the nearby ski resort of the Sierra Nevada (40 mins).
Salobreña is the nearest beach (45mins), although we recommend the incredible Natural Park coastline of Cabo de Gata in Almeria (2h).
Excellent walking/hiking to be enjoyed in the nearby mountains, and even directly from the apartment to the hills above the Alhambra.
Granada is an easy destination to bring young children. They will be made welcome in any restaurant or bar, and you will see young children playing out in the squares of the city till late on a summer's night!

Prices quoted above (in Euros) are for 2 people (or 1) per night or week. Minimum stay 3 nights.
After six nights, there is a sliding scale, and we will be happy to quote a price for the number of days you wish to stay.
For extra guests (sofa bed) there is a charge of 15€ per extra person per night (half price children under 15)
A baby under 2 years old: no charge (advise for supply of cot)
