La Solana is located in a unique and unrivalled location with sea views to the south of the island. Ideal for persons seeking a holiday in an area that is non-touristic and still retains a local coastal spanish town atmosphere.
Available for 2/3 or 4 persons. The accomodation comprises of a large modern living room with air-conditioning and private secure ADSL connection and Ipod docking. 1 double bedroom with air-conditioning, and 2 single bedrooms with ceiling fans. One single room has a door out to small private garden area. Family bathroom with shower and bidet, separate cloakroom, kitchen with separate utility room. Large, private south facing sun terrace, with sun beds/plants/dining table and chairs and sun canopy. From the terrace there are views directly out to sea towards the south of the island towards Costa Calma and the Jandia lighthouse. The apartment also looks out onto the 25 meter pool. The large private sun terrace enjoys sun all day.
The area is very peaceful and tranquil. A car is not always necessary unless you want to leave Gran Tarajal and explore. You will then be ready for your second week for a bit more activity, night life, and surf or just to laze on the white sandy lagoons. Please ask for recommendations of places to visit, eat or just beach out !
Residential Vista Mar is a new build and has been designed to an amazing standard and is unique in many ways. It has been sympathetically designed with ramp access to all the communal areas and leading into the pool! Lifts and dedicated parking areas. La Solana has its parking space directly behind the apartment.
Gran Tarajal has a certain style and elegance about the place. One of the oldest towns on the island, it has a feel of a Cornish or Devon fishing village with a Spanish twist. With its steep hill rising cottages, steep lanes, flat walking around the Marina to the town beach and parade of Restaurants/coffee bars. It used to be the place of Pirates and smugglers. One of the least touristic developed and most authentic areas on the island.
Plenty of Pan de Boutiques (Bakery’s!) 2 good supermarkets, several chemists and general stores all situated either in the main street or to be discovered in the tiny back streets. (Some shops still close for afternoon siesta an only Restaurants/Bars/Bakery’s may be open on Sundays. Fantastic cafes and restaurants all within a short walks, parks, promenades and the famous fountain roundabout. And one of the best local Restaurants is situated just round the corner of Residential Vista Mar and overlooking the Marina!
One visitor described the town as the nearest to Brixham in South Devon as they could imagine in the Canaries!

With breathtaking southern views out to sea towards Costa Calma and Morre Jable, this living room has been fitted out to glossy magazine standard! Large sofa, chairs, units, coffee tables, flat screen TV/DVD, and shimmering blinds to defuse any sun glare – you can still see out, but no one can see in!
A private and secure ADSL connection included in the price.
Leading from the full width large sliding doors is the fabulous sun terrace, with sun beds, and table and chairs for 4 persons and uninterrupted views. An electrical operated sun canopy to give more privacy and shade.
Whilst it is a shame not to eat out and explore the local restaurants (and it is certainly not expensive to eat out in Gran Tarajal!). This apartment has a very well equipped kitchen. Modern kitchen fully fitted out will all appliances including integral dishwasher, large fridge freezer, microwave/grill, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, ceramic hob/oven/extractor. Fully fitted with cutlery, crockery, glasses, dishes, pots, pans, table mats, oven gloves, etc. Table and chairs for 4 persons.
All 3 bedrooms have been stylishly furnished for maximum comfort. This apartment comprises of 1 double bedroom, 160cm wide bed with Sultan mattress with topper Fitted wardrobe, bedside drawers and lamps and air-con. Both the single bedrooms have fitted wardrobes, dressing table/chair, bedside drawers and lamps and ceiling fans. One bedroom leads out into a small private terrace area.
From a door leading off from the kitchen is the laundry area with washing machine, drying rack and cleaning equipment. Iron and ironing board has also been provided.

On site and for exclusive use only for the residents and guests is a 25 meter salt chlorinated pool of a depth of 1.4 meters. The area is fully terraced and secure fencing around both the large pool and around a separate children's pool. Full gymnasium of free weights, bicycles and fitness equipment. Ladies/Gents changing rooms/showers. Parking space in dedicated secure parking bay located next to this apartment. Off site there many places of interest and too many to mention - Please do ask when booking this apartment.

Fuerteventura enjoys just about 12 months of summer weather. A dry climate of very few days of rain in a year. The oldest of the Canary Islands, but the least commercial and touristic. Many unspoilt areas and beaches to rival the other islands. The beaches are known to even rival the beaches of the Caribbean, and the inland landscape can be described as being almost biblical. Its scenery is dramatic and breathtaking, be it a rocky coast line, white sandy beach or barren interior. The flora and fauna is amazing and diverse and gives all year round colours.
Peppered with small local inland villages, goat farms, fishing villages and small touristic towns. Gran Tarajal evokes certain elegance. With its central park area ablaze with colourful flowers and trees. A Spanish style promenade, boutiques, restaurants and its large sparkling black sandy town beach (safe for swimming) With the best of the white sandy beaches in the south, Sotavento being only a few kilometres south.
For food lovers the local foods are fresh and simple. Canarian cooking can be found in most Restaurants/Tapas Bars and cafes. Local Goats cheeses, tomatoes, herbs, and seasonal fruits can be purchased easily. Goats meat is a local speciality and all meat purchased will be of great quality.
This apartment is a non-smoking apartment. There is a safe fitted. Air-conditioning and many other features. Animals are not allowed. Suitable for semi - disabled persons as there are lifts and parking is within the development. The apartment is on one level and the pool and pool area and facilities all have ramps for easy chair mobility. This apartment is in an elevated location so boasts spectacular views over the bays.
A travel cot/linen and or high chair is available if booked at time of reservation at no extra cost.
An easy 30 mins south of the airport. Airport transfers can be arranged (subject to availability and pre-booking)

Fresh crisp white bed linen and coloured towels are provided, and for stays of more than 1 week, a second set can be left or a linen/towel change can be agreed when booking. Beach towels are also provided with this booking. Additional pillows are left in the wardrobes for those preferring to sleep with 2 pillows, as is a blanket and/or duvet in each of the bedrooms.
Secure and private ADSL connection now available included in the price.
For convenience and ease payment can be made in either euro or sterling at the rate advertised in euro. i.e. 350euro or sterling. Always ask if there could be a discount for longer periods or during low season.

We have stayed in dozens of self-catering apartments over the years, some indifferent some very good - none came up to the overall standard of La Solana. The apartment is beautifully appointed and totally equipped right down to picnic accessories. The information we received prior to our arrival was fulsome and most helpful - Janet could not have been more helpful. The verandah was delightfully furnished and the view constantly attractive. Gran Tarajal is an unspoilt town with sufficient facilities for holiday guests. Overall we would willingly recommend this apartment 100%. Many thanks Janet, we hope to return. |
