About the home

This apartment is situated in a residential area which has it’s benefits as the amenities are open all year round. Occupied by 60% Spanish and 40% the rest of europe, gives Gran Alacant that holiday feel with the laid back Spanish life.

The apartment is typically Spanish with white washed walls and tiled flooring throughout but enjoys all modern comforts. As it is situated above carabasi beach you can enjoy the views from the roof terrace and top up your tan or find shade from the sun on the balcony. It sleeps up to 7 enabling you to enjoy family holidays or holidays with your friends with ease.

The beach is a twenty minutes walk down a winding slope, so hop on the road train and take the easy way down. Sun beds and parasols can be hired throughout the main holiday season and there are several bars which serve food dotted along the miles of sand.

Although there are no lakes to fish in, most locals fish along the beach often by the rocks and rock pools.

Supermarkets, Banks, Bread shops, Cafes, Bars, restaurant, chemists and clinic are all with in walking distance

Daily bus service into Santa Pola and Alicante

Catch the local road train and visit the GA centre and other Bars, restaurants within the area.

We only ask that what ever you have used from our wine rack, fridge or cupboards that you kindly restock before departure so other guest may have the same benefits.

Our neighbours are expats and I’m sure that they will fill you in on information that you need regarding the area.

Carabasi Beach in Decemeber

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

A beautiful and protected bay shelters this natural treasure which is bathed by the warm Mediterranean waters and situated on the south side of the province of Alicante. Seagoing traditions, beaches of fine sand, extremely beautiful sunsets, Mediterranean climate and natural resources all combine together in this tourist town.

More than 11 kilometres of beach: the east, small bays with fine sand and crystalline waters; the west, shallow beaches perfect for children and adults. In the cape you can find unspoiled bays which are not very crowded.

The local cuisine is remarkable for its colour, and they are based on fish and rice and the desserts (puff pastry, ice-creams, creamy ice-creams) will surprise all who eat in Santa Pola. Ancient traditions and customs all combined throughout the year a chance to deck the town out.

The Gran Alacant / Altomar 2 area

Nice weather, promenades and sea air are an attraction for people to practice jogging, trekking, cycling or just to have a walk along the coast. A modern yacht club and a protected bay invite the visitor to practice windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, swimming or diving.

Alicante city itself has four sailing clubs:

* Real Club de Regatas de Alicante yacht club, located on the Muelle de Poniente pier.
* Marina Alicante, at Muelle (Pier) 8 in the Levante area of the harbour.
* The Club Náutico Alicante Costa Blanca sailing club, on the avenue Avenida Condomina.
* Puerto Isla Tabarca.

City Walks - Discover Alicante
Walk along the Alicante seafront - This walk starts at El Postiguet beach, next to the city's Old Quarter and between the Marina and the Serra Grossa mountain range.

The Santa Bárbara Castle Walk:
Santa Bárbara Castle sits on top of Mount Benacantil overlooking El Postiguet beach.

A Walk through Alicante's Old Quarter known locally as El Barrio. It is home to the majority of the city's monuments, making it a fantastic outing for all the senses.

LEISURE ACTIVITY
Walk along the beach, see the sunset, go shopping, visit “El Palmeral” (the local park)… After a busy morning, nothing better than a relaxing afternoon to recover lost energy. Local Markets Santa Pola Saturdays & Mondays • Gran Alacant Thursdays. Day trip to Isle of Tabarca.

Alicante Town - Palm tree lined promenades, Large marina with many restaurants or go shopping. Alicante has a wealth of boutiques, department stores and shopping malls. Las Salinas Nature Reserve, which is considered a “Region of Special Importance for Birdlife”, where more than 150 species live, as for example Flamingoes and Storks.

Alicante airport which is 6.8Km north of the apartment about 10 minute car drive.

All major airlines and budget airlines fly into Alicante. I always fly easyjet.

For Car Hire I always go with: www.economycarhire.com, as I find they are the cheapest. But the airport has several
car hire companies.

If you choose not to hire a car you'll find a taxi rank out side departures and a bus station.

“Wonderful Appartemnt - Wonderful Place” The Appartment was perfect for the 2 of us - althought a family would feel right at home here as well. 3 Rooms with beds, Living room was perfect with a kitchen with all utencils needed. Bathroom very clean and again, plenty of usable items. The balconey was wonderful in the evening, whilst my favourite area was the Roof Top - chairs and tables and a large umbrella in case you need the shade. the area was very relaxing, the 3 pools were lovely, although spent most of the time at the beech - we didnt mind the walk down, coming back is uphill but even then its a nice walk with view points on the way - would recommned to anyone looking for peace and relaxation but still with some entertaining night life close by. Shops and resturants and pubs are all within 3mins walk. We both throughly enjoyed oursleves.

We had a fantastic time - The appartment was fantastic, everything we needed - We got the train and bus to the beech and missed the return bus one day so we walked back and found it to be a reasonable journey - after that we walked down and up again for the last 2 days no problem. I am seeing my Parents this weekend and will recomend it to them as well as i think it would be perfect for a week away for the both of them - they would love it over there. I'm delighted to say that we had a ball. The apartment is lovely and we really enjoyed staying there.
We spent the time between chilling out in the restaurants, visiting Alicante (the Rodin exhibition was excellent) and generally relaxing.
