On entering the property you are in the lounge. The dining area is located next to the kitchen area with galleria off the kitchen. From the lounge there is a shower room.

To the side of the shower room is the staircase leading to the first floor which has two bedrooms and family bathroom. The bedroom to the front of the house has a double bed with access to a small terraced area which has views over the the clot and Los Arenales. The second bedroom has twin single beds. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath. The stairs then continue up to a rooftop solarium which has fantastic views over to Alicante and across to the mountains.

This property is located on the roadside of the Poligono so has easy access from the car. There is a front terraced area where you can sit and relax and for privacy you have the roof top solarium where you can soak up the sun all day long or enjoy a quiet drink reading a book.

On the solarium there is also a BBQ area and table for outside dining.

The property is well equipped for you to enjoy your holiday and relax and soak up the sun. Equipment for a child re high chair, cot, safety gates can be hired on arrival for a small fee.

A 25 % deposit is required to secure your booking with the remainder paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.

The only other funds to be paid is a refundable damage deposit of 150 Euro which is returned on departure providing no breakages occur.

The Costa Blanca/Valencia region

Known for its fantastic climate and dry weather the Costa Blanca is a great place to holiday. Gran Alacant is situated on the hillside between the cities of Alicante and Santa Pola. Just a 10 minute drive from Alicante airport. Alicante is a ten minute drive in one direction and has a good lively night life.

The beautiful quaint fishing port of Santa Pola is just 5kms drive in the opposite direction. Santa Pola has a large market with a vast variety of foods and good available and takes place on Saturday and Monday mornings. You can take the coast road along the carrabassi beach into Santa Pola which runs from the bottom of the hill at Gran Alacant into the town and take a glass bottom boat ride to the island of Tarbarca.

Benidorm is approx 1 hours drive north or you can take the train or bus if you do not drive. The lively nightlife and its many attractions which include Terra Mitica, Mundomar, Terra Nature are among a few. Gran A|acant itself , has a large selection of bars and restaurants catering to all taste and nationalities and several large supermarkets within walking distance where you can purchase beer and wine for relaxing on the terrace and soaking up the sun.

Gran Alacant

There is a weekly market on Thursday morning just 5 minutes from the house, where you can pick up fresh local fruit and vegetables. The Caribassi beach, has fabulous sand dunes and stretches for miles, with plenty of free parking.

For the nature lovers there is the Clot de Galvany nature reserve where you can stroll through the grass and use the Keeps to take a look at the bird life and there is also a BBQ area.

There is a train that will transport you around the Gran Alacant area for a small fee.

"nice area but a bit quiet"

Our family of mum, dad and two boys (11 and 15) stayed here for 10 days on our family holiday in July.
The agent Karen transferred us from the airport to the accommodation and gave us a tour of the town on the way which was really useful. The property itself is situated in a residential area about 15-20 minutes walk from the nearest beach and a short bus ride from the main commercial centre. There is a small strip mall 5 mins walk away which has about a dozen small bars and restaurants and a mini supermarket which sells most things you would need but is much more expensive than the big supermarket in the commercial centre. The bus stop for the circular bus around the town is here too with buses about every 20 minutes costing 1.50 each.
The beach is beautiful pale sand but does have limited facilities. There is one beach bar selling drinks and ice creams and a small area of sunbeds costing 12 euros for two loungers and a canopy. Further along the beach at Los Arenales there is another bar and area of loungers but these are more expensive. Los Arenales has a beautiful promenade but unfortunately there are no shops on it! You do need to take your own lunch.
There is a market in the town on a Thursday which is well worth a visit.
So the good bits:
Clean accommodation in good condition
No noise from bars or restaurants
Good restaurants within walking distance (especially recommend Sand Hills for good food at great prices)
Near to bus route
Mostly well equipped with everything you would need
Very well maintained neighbourhood
Lovely communal pool - one of the best bits of our holiday
Very helpful agent in Karen
Bad bits:
Will be too far away from centre of town/beach for many tourists
NO air conditioning - this really is a necessity for the high season
Only one bath towel per person provided- this is difficult to work with even with a washing machine and nothing for a lady with longer hair!
The roof terrace while private is actually a bit grim with the main views being the neighbours roof terraces and their washing. The patio area is much nicer if more public as it faces onto the road. There is no garden.
Lack of Wi-Fi availability. Only place we could access Wi-Fi was in the main commercial centre.
To sum up we would return to this area as we prefer quiet holidays. The property would need to have air conditioning installed for us to use it again in high season and we would be happy to pay more for this.
