Home description
Located opposite the guard gate to the Sanctuary Villa Resort, nestled near the top of Horseshoe Ridge, this scenic hilltop sanctuary is the epitome of outdoor Caribbean living with its upper and lower wrap-around verandahs offering up views of beautiful Stonehaven Bay and the surrounding Grafton area. For sunsets, it's quite literally a top-notch spot to be! With a magnificent view to the west from the upper balcony, this property's beautifully landscaped borders of tropical flowers and greenery in turn provide privacy, help keep guests out of "neighbouring views". Off the beaten path, but by no means isolated, this hilltop sanctuary is however far enough from the main road and the nearby happening hamlet of Pleasant Prospect that seldom do the sounds of traffic and voices carry.
Tobago is not a volcanic island like most of the other Caribbean islands; once a part of South America, many of the same species of plants and animals found on that continent abound here. The island is carpeted in thick, green rainforest and graced with a backbone of rugged hills, offering spectacular views of the blue bays and numerous white sandy beaches dotting both the Caribbean and Atlantic coastlines of this small island paradise, the original "Robinson Crusoe" isle.
Nestled at the top of Horseshoe Ridge
Large Pool with Loungers
Open-air dining inside!
Casual "al fresco" dining

The Tobago region
Located opposite the guard gate to the Sanctuary Villa Resort and nestled near the top of Horseshoe Ridge, this scenic hilltop sanctuary is the epitome of outdoor Caribbean living, with its upper and lover wrap-around verandahs offering up views of beautiful Stonehaven Bay and the surrounding Grafton area. For sunsets, it's quite literally a top-notch spot to be: with a view to the west from the upper balcony, this property's beautifully landscaped borders of tropical flowers and greenery in turn help keep guests hidden from view.
Off the beaten path, this hilltop sanctuary is far enough from the main road that the sound of traffic doesn't carry; just as there's less fear of village life interrupting you through the night. Tobago is not a volcanic island like most of the other Caribbean islands; once a part of South America, many of the same species of plants and animals found on that continent abound here.
Grafton area
Tobago is one of the few places left in the world to which critically endangered leatherback sea turtles return every year to lay their eggs. Rumagin is about a 5-minute walk away from Stonehaven Bay, a prime nesting site. Tobago is home to 210 species of Birds and this villa is ideally situated, only about a 10 minute walk to a 200-acre Wildlife Sanctuary with bird-watching trails. Rumagin is about a 10 minute walk away from Mt. Irvine Beach, a favourite with surfers.
Coast/Beach Tobago has quite rightly been hailed the Galapagos of the West Indies. Its exquisite reefs are home to an explosion of marine life, from the microscopic to the majestic: over 1000 species of animals and plants have been identified in and around Tobago’s waters up to a depth of 200 ft (60m). Rumagin is about a 10-15 minute walk from Back Bay, a small secluded bay between Grafton and Mount Irvine Bay, where snorkelling is supposed to be the best.
Golf There are two PGA Championship Golf Courses in the area.
How to get there
The villa is located about a 15 minute drive from Crown Point Airport and a 15-20 minute drive from the Port, where the ferry runs between the sister isles.
