At the entrance to Gower lies the famous village of Mumbles. This is where Dylan Thomas spent his leisure time in the Mermaid Inn, now a restaurant, and where you will see bobbing boats , enjoy harbour walks, numerous bistros and cafes and a wide coastal path for walking an cycling. Formerly the track of the famous Mumbles railway, there is a now summer train running the whole length of Mumbles and Swansea Bay that is a delightful way to get around.

The procedure for booking and paying for the stay was very efficient the owner was a pleasure to deal with.On the day of our arrival the sun came out and lasted for the whole week. The accomodation is excellent as described . The views from the apartment are stunning . At times it was like having your own private beach .We needed a place to unwind from our hectic lives , this is the place. In nearby Mumbles all facilities are available (if you need large shops Swansea is down the road). On an observation note there are three flights of stairs to get to the appartment but worth the effort for the views. One priceless aspect no mobile phone coverage ! If you needed communications there is internet wireless network One suprise was the next house had its own Helicopter very upmarket. Response: So many people comment on how realxing it is to watch the tide come in and out. It is indeed heavenly. By the way, most mobile phone networks are fine in the bay itself but this can be patchy with some and just walking onto the beach can create a link up. |

This beautiful apartment is tastefully furnished, clean and very well equipped but above all it probably has one of the most wonderful locations in the world and we've travelled a lot of it. From both the bedroom and sitting/dining area there is a magnificent view onto the beach and sea which are only a stone's throw away. The headland rising to the left and another wooded headland to the right give rise to spectacular cliff path walks at the end of which are a great range of cafes, bars and restaurants, all of which are listed in the apartment's handbook and are all very good especially the full Welsh breakfasts! We have been lucky enough to "winter" here for five months and have loved every minute through all sorts of dramatic weather. We can't write anything adverse because there is nothing. Our dealings with the owner have been more of a pleasure than a business transaction. The apartment and it's location are a credit to her. Response: So nice to have such positive comments from such well travelled guests! There is indeed somnwthing very special about the Redcliffe, Caswell and Gower in sunny South Wales. |

Very rarely have we stayed in accommodation with such an amazing view. We watched the waves and tides and fully relaxed. So much to absorb one- surfing, canoeing, caving, swimming. We were right on... more Response: We are delighted that our guests had such a lovely time-this review states what a lot of guests write in our guest book and we appreciate such positive responses very much indeed. We have had visitors... more |
