Home description
Gelli On, thought to the the oldest property in the village, is set in a prime position, approx 100 yards from the open marsh, with its famous marsh ponies and a children's playground. The gardens are impressively large, flat and enclosed, making them safe for children of all ages. There is a children's slide and picnic table for their use, together with a colourful playhouse.
The living room has a traditional style electric fire with comfortable modern leather suite, television with Freeview and dvd player which can be hidden away in the beautiful hand crafted Welsh Dresser. There is a separate dining room with quality dining furniture and a sturdy metal sprung sofa bed to sleep your 7th and 8th guests. The cosy cottage style kitchen, whilst traditional in style, has all mod cons including a full sized dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.
The three bedrooms and family bathroom are reached via a steep carpeted staircase. The spacious master bedroom, furnished with traditional pine furniture, sleeps 2 with a further large bedroom sleeping 3 (in a double bed and single bed), together with a further single bedroom. The family bathroom has modern power shower over the bath with glass shower screen.
The property is ideally located to discover and explore the delights of the beautiful Gower Peninsula together with surrounding areas. There is a shop, post office, cosy village pub and chapel within the village with a chemist, large supermarket with coffee shop, Indian restaurant, fish and chip shop, hair salon, gym and butcher within 3km and a petrol station with Tesco Express and Chinese restaurant within 7 km.

The South Wales / Swansea/Bridgend/Neath region
The Gower Peninsula in South Wales was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956. It was the first place to be assigned this title in the UK. Thankfully, little has changed since that time and you can still appreciate the extreme contrast from the sprawling wildlife estuary in North Gower, over the wild moor of Cefn Bryn to the sloping fields, dramatic limestone cliffs and long sandy beaches of South Gower. In fact there are probably not many places where you can see so many natural features squeezed into such a delightful but small area.
Gower is blessed with many sandy beaches, beautiful bays and interesting coves to explore. The South and West coasts of Gower vary between the sandy beaches and dramatic limestone cliffs, whereas the Northern coast of Gower forms part of the tidal Loughor Estuary where many nature reserves can be found.
Gower / Crofty area
The property is conveniently located at a central point for all of the Gower beaches. Crofty is a small village with a shop, post office, pub and chapel, however many more amenities are situated very close by. The wonderful surfing at Llangennith beach is only 15 minutes away.
Similarly, the spectatcular beauty of Worms Head and Rhosilli beach are only a short car ride away. Three Cliffs Bay, nominated as one of the best views in Wales, is within easy reach, as is the idyllic swimming beach at Oxwich Bay.
Forestfach Retail Park is only 10 minutes away with major name retailers in an out of town setting, whilst the City of Swansea is only 15km away with a modern, busy shopping centre, cinemas, bowling alley, numerous restaurants and public houses as well as the popular water park within Swansea Leisure Centre (The LC).
Mumbles is a quaint seaside resort with children's play areas, pitch and put, pier and numerous watersports.
How to get there
Travel by road - leave M4 at junction 47 and follow signs for the Gower, then Gowerton and the village of Crofty is 4 miles beyond Gowerton - just 8 miles from the M4 motorway. After travelling through Penclawdd, turn right into Crofty (signposted Pencaerfenni Lane). Bear left and follow the road through the village, take the left fork into Chapel Road and Gelli On is the imposing detached property right at the bottom of the road.

Further details indoors: The property benefits from gas central heating and double glazing and is carpeted throughout with the exception of the bathroom which is tiled. There is also a small rear porch looking out onto the large garden.
A vast collection of books suitable for children and adults is available for your use. There is also a selection of board games and children's toys suitable for both boys and girls.
In addition, the bathroom is equipped with a potty and children's toilet seat to save bringing your own if you have very young children. A bed guard and pushchair are also available for young children to avoid the need to load up your car with your own or bring a travel cot.
If you choose to holiday over Christmas, a large tree and trimmings are stored at the property to ensure a festive feeling.
Further details outdoors: The large lawned gardens are ideal for families with young children. A slide and children's picnic table are available together with a colourful playhouse. Double gates secure the garden and provide access to the driveway which can hold 4 cars with ease, however it is advisable that these are kept closed otherwise you may return to find the famous marsh ponies grazing on the lawn!
