The South Wales region

The beautiful Gower Peninsula in South Wales was the first region in the UK to be designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). It has extensive sandy beaches and coves with 250 km paths for walking across heathland, gentle hills as well as a coastal footpath. There is a unique and diverse collection of wild plants and flowers and equally fascinating geology. Agriculture is still traditional with a patchwork of small fields and free roaming sheep, horses and cattle over the heathland.

There is an exceptionally good range of outdoor activities that cater for all ages and levels of experience in surfing, canoeing, mountain biking, horse riding and hang gliding. There are 5 golf courses within 20 minutes drive.

Gower

Reynoldston is a friendly rural village with a strong local community right in the heart of Gower. It is within easy reach of all the beauty spots and beaches of the area. From the hill above the village (Cefn Bryn) you can see coastland all around, with the Bristol Channel to the South, Carmarthen Bay in the North and the Atlantic away to the West.

The village has a renown local pub which is child friendly serving food at all hours, plus there is a local shop for a daily paper and all the essentials. There are also many other first class restaurants serving locally made food within a short distance.

The area is renown for outdoor activities and the cottage has a wealth of data on where and when you can get involved in surfing, mountain biking, golf, horse riding, and hang gliding. Plus the owners Chris and Phil Evans know the area very well and can help you to plan and get the most out of your holiday.

There are numerous circular walks from the front gate of the cottage to all parts of Gower, but you can also use the local bus service to venture further afield on the peninsula

"Great, cosy cottage"

Very comfortable cottage, cosy but plenty of space. Best thing was the quality of the beds - very comfortable indeed. Wood burner needs a bit of maintenance as it didn't give out any heat! But th… More

Thanks for the comments about the cottage in particular the log burner. We have since had it overhauled by a qualified heating engineer who also installed a new chimney flue to increase 'draw' and heat output.

"Beautiful and cosy."

The cottage is located in a picturesque village on the beautiful Gower peninsula. Small but perfectly formed myself and my friends had everything we could need for a mini-break. The cosy living room has a log burning stove and comfortable sofas to lounge around in after a long days walking. Not forgetting a bit of time in the lovely lantern ceilinged dining-room for a hearty meal. The kitchen is very well equipped and was perfect for cooking up a big feast, it even has a separate wine fridge and three (!) ovens. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and absolutely fine for five adults sharing, although I imagine some would be more comfortable with just four. We had a surplus of towels and bedding and the owners had made sure all the basics you don't want to have to go and buy for a couple of days stay were provided. The owners were also very attentive in a non-intrusive way and made sure we had everything we needed. We couldn't have been happier with it and would whole-heartedly recommend the cottage to others. You'd be hard pressed to find more beautiful walking country right on your doorstep!
