The South Wales region

Swansea is Wales’ “City by the Sea” being perfectly situated on the edge of a five mile wide bay. Renowned as the birthplace of Wales’ greatest poet and playwright Dylan Thomas and home of the Dylan Thomas centre where his memory is kept very much alive.

The City has world class cultural facilities and is a lively and vibrant maritime city and regional shopping centre, Swansea is home to Wales biggest indoor market where you can sample traditional Welsh delicacies like laverbread and fresh cockles from Penclawdd. Locally caught fresh fish can also be bought along with local souvenirs including Welsh ladies hats and intricately carved lovespoons.

Gower

To the west of Swansea city is the Gower Peninsula, Great Britain’s first area of Outstanding Natural Beauty whose west facing beaches are Wales’ premier surfing locations. The Gower coastline is as good as it gets in the UK and Mumbles is the gateway to the Gower. With its wonderful village full of restaurants, independent shops and beautiful scenery, you'll find everything you need and more.

"Great house for Gower stay"

Gower place is a lovely house with easy access into the Mumbles and the Gower. This was the second time we had stayed here as the property is perfect for our needs. The kitchen is well equipped and the only problem we had was with the washing machine , which was very quickly attended to by the owners , who were v helpful with all relevant information needed, before and during our stay.
The only problem , is the parking , it is quite tricky to negotiate but it definately gets easier over the course of the stay , once you get the hang of it, and having previously stayed somewhere in the mumbles without a parking spot , this is still an advantage!

"ideal family holiday cottage"

This was my third stay at the cottage, and the first time with both a toddler and a dog in tow. It is ideally placed for walking to the beach, the village shops and cafes, and has the advantage of a parking space at the back of the house.Sandy beaches are a short drive away or if you are a walker, miles of beautiful coastline are easily accessible on foot from the house. The kitchen is very well equipped so that you dont need to eat out if you dont want to, the beds are very comfortable and everything spotlessly clean. Morgan my grandson absolutely loved his stay at "our house with the red door!" and we hope to be back again soon.

"Perfect House & Perfect Location"

We travelled to the Mumbles for a bit of a family gathering - there were 5 adults and 3 young children in all. The house was absolutely lovely and within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and the beachfront. Was a lovely comfortable house which felt like home from home (although a lot nicer than our home!) We really didn't want to leave - our stay was far too short. The only small downside was limited parking as we had 2 cars and parking is tight at the Mumbles, but not a problem if you just have the one car as there is a parking space with the house. Highly recommend and look forward to staying here again.
