Delightful, warm and welcoming family home, full of character, from the oak beamed ceilings, cantou fireplace and stone walls. .

On the ground floor,there is a large well equipped kitchen leading through to the open plan living/dining room with doors from both areas opening on the beautiful flower filled terrace, and overlooking the swimming pool. Still on the ground floor, the master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the ensuite a spa bath and shower. French doors overlook the pool and open on to the terrace
Upstairs there are two light & spacious bedrooms one featuring two double beds and a cot for a baby (another cot is available if required), the other has a queen size bed and a single bed,.
A family sized bathroom upstairs together with study area (there is a double bed settee in this area) with computer facilities completes the upstairs accommodation.
Le Pouget is a wonderful rural retreat for couples, & families who like the country life, with the options of visiting the best historical sites in France or sampling the gourmet food and wines of the area, which are easily accessed by its position on the borders of the Dordogne and Lot.
The pool area has a shaded nook complete with hammock and sunloungers.
Great for families, relaxing by the pool or playing with the children (football, cricket,, boules. badminton) swings and outside toys for toddlers.

True cottage style with oak beams and tiled floors. Upstairs there are exposed roof timbers and wooden flooring. There is an area of 14 foot square between the 2 bedrooms. where the computer is situated, sofa and 2nd television. The family bathroom leads off this and has full sized bath with shower over. This gives maximum privacy between the two bedrooms.
Bed Linen can be changed weekly if required and a plentiful supply of towels is provided. Cleaning materials and dishwasher tablets are also supplied.

The house stands in its own grounds of one and half acres and is private, surrounded by trees, it stands off a small line from the village away from the main traffic.
There is space for children's games, with table tennis table and swings to seat three children. Ball games can be played on the large grassed area in front of the terrace, this and the pool area is visible from the house so children can play safely within your view We can also provide a sand pit and small see-saw for younger children.
There is a large charcoal barbecue at the side of the terrace
The pool area has a table and chairs and sunbeds for 8 people. The saltwater pool measures 11metre x 5 metres with roman steps at one end.. The area around the pool is tiled and an alarm is fitted to the pool. There is an open sided shaded area with banana palms at the roman end of the pool .

A bottle of wine, bread, eggs and salad will be waiting for you on arrival. Shopping or evening meal can be arranged for your first evening, please do not hesitate to ask...
There is a small vegetable area to one side of the drive, together with space for chickens. There are 9 very friendly hens,, Fresh eggs and vegetables can be purchased
Conditions
30% of the rental fee is required on reservation and the balance 6 weeks prior to arrival.
Refundable breakages deposit is 300 euros payable on arrival and refunded within 2 weeks of departure, subject to satisfactory property inspection.

The Lot is sometimes referred to as the cauldron of France. It lies between the mountain ranges of the Massif Central and the Pyrenees. The countryside is of verdant rolling valley and limestone escarpements, with underground caves, gorges and bordered by two rivers, the Dordgne and Cele. The are so many places of interest to visit - Rocamadour, Domme, Sarlat to name but a few.
The area around the main town of the area - Cahors, boasts some of the best vineyards in France.
The climate is temperate, July and August being the hottest months of the year, reaching over 100%.
September and October are excellent months for visiting the area, with the bonus of superb sunsets
The Gourdon / Auniac area
Gourdon is a friendly small town with great view of the surrounding area. Here you will find supermarkets. hospital, pharmacies, tennis courts and lots of pavement bars and restaurants and a weekly market on Saturdays
.In the summer months there is always something of interest happening- medieval festivals, local villages fetes, Rouffilhac has its own in August and everyone is welcome. Owing to its proximity the the Dordgne river there are numerous activities, caneing on the Dordogne- the route of the Chateaux is fantastic. In addition there are river cruises, fishing and water parks. The nearby historic towns of Sarlat and Domme have weekly markets
and great restaurants. Golf enthusiasts also catered for. There really is something for every member of the family

A20 towards Toulouse, exit Jct 54 - Sarlat. Thru town centre of Souillac follow N20 to Payrac, Turn right to Rouffillhac, After 500 yds turn right again, follow signs for Rouffilhac. Turn left opposite church in Rouffilhac, house on right after 200yds.
By Air:
Ryanair fly to Limoges, Rodez & Bergerac. Easyjet fly to Toulouse, Flybe fly to Bergerac. All of these airports are within 120 kms- 2 Hours driving time. Hire car is available at all these airports. Jet 2 are now flying from London/Manchester to Dordogne valley (Brive) which is only 35 mins from Rouffilhac
By Train:
Eurostar from London/Ashford to Paris. From Paris trains run to Toulouse via Gourdon - 5kms from Rouffilhac
