"Splendid isolation in breathtaking surroundings"

Glenlough cottage in Adrigole, Co Cork is a nice quite cosy cottage, containing the usual necessities, but without all of the frills of modern life. There is no dishwasher, no internet and no TV or radio reception, even though the house contains both a TV and a radio. The cottage is snugly located in a hilly area on the Beara peninsula, at the the end of a long (approx 2 km) access road that accomodates one car at a time. The good points about Glenlough cottage are its location, the quiet, and the walks and scenery. The bad points are its distance from the mainroad and villages of any reasonable size, difficulties getting cell phones to work and the lack of any radio or TV information. Last but not least, the caretakers are very friendly, while being very discreet. Must dos include a whirl in a canoe in Adrigole harbour. Local-based canoe rental is cheap.
