About this location
The Brittany region
Brittany has a charm of its own: from the bilingual town name signs in French and Breton, to its individual customs and costumes, fetes and festivals.
Its friendly people are warm and welcoming, and the whole area offers a relaxing holiday location! It's a large region and you can explore its charms, both country and coastal, on quiet roads where driving is a pleasure not a chore! Eating out is affordable with great quality food and a large choice.
There's so many interesting things to do here, you will never be bored!
Plussulien village itself offers a range of basic amenities, including the lovely bakery, a couple of bars and a nearby excellent farm shop. There's also an impressive church . The small town of Corlay with its interesting castle is only 5 minutes drive away, or within 15 minutes, you can be in Gouarec or Mur de Bretagne, or explore the beautiful area around Le Lac de Guerledan or the Abbaye Bon Repos, which has a fantastic 'Son et Lumiere' presentation every August and a host of other events during the year, plus a Sunday Farmers' and Craft Market selling lovely produce and artisanal gifts every summer.
Les Historiques in Gouarec is a historical themed day in July, which is well worth a visit, with the whole town turing 'period' for that day and plenty of lively entertainment and music.
Les Vieilles Charrues, a massive annual rock/folk festival takes place in July near Carhaix (Less than 45 mins from Plussulien) In the past, the line-up included Bob Dylan, Sting, The Cure, Portishead, Elton John, Garbage and Artic Monkeys among others.
