Hampshire has lots to offer as a holiday destination with its many beaches, beautiful countryside in the New Forest, and has many places of interest including museums, Marwell Zoo, Paultons Park and Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
The Isle of Wight is a short ferry journey across the Solent.
We are located in the beautiful area of The Solent where a 5-10 minute walk brings you to the beach where you can view all the yachts and the Isle of Wight. The area offers visitors a variety of natural, historical and naval attractions, as well as beautiful coastal walks.
We are located just a few minutes from Portsmouth, withvery good restaurants and bars at the vibrant waterfront Gunwharf Quays, and the historical Dockyard where you can visit The Warrior and Nelson's famous ship The Victory.
A superb network of public transport includes a foot passenger ferry from Gosport to Portsmouth (a 5-minute journey), and regular train and bus services ensuring easy access to all areas and a car is not essential.
You can choose two beaches whilst on holiday here. Stokes Bay Beach with its unspoilt coastline, wine bar and bistro and wonderful views.. very famous for sunbathing, sailing and windsurfing. Lee on Solent Beach is located a ten minute drive from the property, offering a variety of restaurants with many jetskiers and kite surfers enjoying the facilities available.

"fantastic venue for family reunion"
we stayed at the 1908 lodge with a large family group for a birthday celebration,
it was a weekend of reunions that were accompanied by the comfortable and pleasant surrounding of the house, we would definitely recommend this house to anyone , and we would recommend as we did employing the services of the private chef Lester who was very polite and did a splendid job of all the catering, nothing was too much trouble.

"Catering was absolutly superb."
Our great thanks to Lester the chef and his crew. The food was absolutely superb and both Lester and his staff were so friendly and helpful. Advising on the local attractions & how to get to them. Helping us with our bags & showing us to our room. Tea & coffee always available. Even making us freshly cooked ham sandwiches for the journey home. They made a good weekend really great.
The accommodation was very good and warm, and the beds comfortable. Plenty of towels & bathrooms clean. No bother with traffic noise and ample off road parking.
The only slight let down was the building, this needs some attention. Some of the guttering down pipes were missing and this made an awful noise when it rained. The garden furniture needs painting. The garden fence needs replacing.
All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and will certainly be looking at booking again. We will definitely look forward to seeing Lester and his crew again to.
