Cottage Layout

The front door opens into the living room where there is a lounge area with 2 sofas on one side, and a dining area with table and chairs for 6 on the other side.

The kitchen is a good size with everything you need during your holiday, including cooker with ceramic hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, good quality cooking equipment, and washing machine. There's a large window looking towards the garden, which lets in lots of light and there's a small breakfast table and 2 chairs. From the kitchen there's a passageway to the back door and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs there is 1 king bedroom and 1 double bedroom to the front of the house, both with hanging spaces and drawers/shelves. There's a modern shower room at the back, with a great quality electric shower (up one step with hand rail).

Pass through the door to the next flight of stairs and you'll come to the loft space converted into a lovely bright twin bedroom. There are four velux windows with blinds, two to the front of the house providing breath taking panoramic sea views.

Further details outdoors

You get to the cottage from a gravelled parking area from which there are just a few steps to a large slate terrace with outside dining furniture and barbeque. The back garden, accessed by some fairly steep steps, is another great spot for you to sun-bathe in. There's also a clothes line in the garden.

The local beaches are clean and sheltered - well loved by local families and those on holiday. At low tide you can walk from the beach by the harbour to the sma'll neighboring beach.

Cliff Road is part of the coastal path, so that you can walk to Mevagissey in one direction and Vault beach in the other direction. There are a few shops, a lively pub and a beautiful peaceful Church in the village.

Further details

Bed linen and bath towels provided. Please bring beach towels. Saturday changeover. Sorry no pets.

The West Country region

Heligan Gardens are just 10 minutes by car and the Eden Project is just 30 minutes away.

Many other wonderful gardens locally and also the Mennack Theatre (open air - book well ahead and take a blanket).

There are a number of annual events in the village, including egg rolling down the steep hill on Church Street on Easter Monday.

Gorran Haven

The beach at Gorran Haven is very suitable for families with small children. It is not so large that you could lose sight of anyone easily and it has fine sand and a stream flowing down its centre. Rocks to one side divide the main beach from the smaller beach of Little Perhaver and in amongst these rocks there are several intriguing rock pools.

When the tide is in, many of the local kids jump off the end of the quay. Kayaks and wetsuits can be hired on the beach and there are many hidden coves, and one large beach (Great Perhaver) nearby that can only be reached by sea.

Neighbouring beaches are more secluded and have fewer (or no), facilities and can be reached along the cliff path or by a short car journey along winding lanes. These are more suitable for older families.

There are a number of annual events in the village, including egg rolling down the steep hill on Church Street on Easter Monday.
