Indeed, St Roch farmhouse (3500 sq.ft) is full of charm with stone walls and old-tiled floors, high ceilings and antique furnishings. The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur region

St Roch is ideally located at the gates of Luberon National Park in the quaint village of Robion, just 12 miles away from Avignon's historical town and theatre festival, 30 miles from stylish Aix en Provence, Cezanne's home town, and one hour away from Marseille.

It is a perfect base for discovering the stunning medieval villages of the region and some of the famous “postcard” sceneries of Provence! The Vaucluse department, in the heart of Provence in the South East of France is renowned for its exquisite scenery and abundance of historic villages. Enjoying a luxurious Mediterranean climate, the region has become the French destination of choice for the discerning visitor and the Provençal hideaway for rat race escapees.

The rolling hills and perched villages of the Luberon are bounded by Cavaillon and Manosque to the West and East, and from Apt south to the River Durance. Mediterranean flora carpets the drier South face of the main range, Oaks grow on the steeper North face and on the lower slopes, orchard fruits, olives, walnuts and of course, grapes are bountiful.

North of the historical city of Avignon, the Vaucluse extends north-east from the lucrative vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape and the Roman treasures of Orange, through to the rocky Dentelles de Montmirail, the slopes of Mont Ventoux and the harsh and uninhabitable plateau d'Albion in the department's easternmost corner.

Gordes

Within a radius of 6 miles, you will find l'Isle sur la Sorgue with its antiques market, Gordes and its traditional stone houses, Roussillon with its remarkable earthtones, Fontaine de Vaucluse, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes.

And since it is entirely acceptable to be a bit lazy when on holiday, you won't have to walk more than 300m to reach all village shops (bakery, grocery, butcher, pharmacy, 2 restaurants, and the tourist office).

The surrounding area offers many natural and historical attractions There are fetes, festivals and markets in abundance; music and opera events; dazzling lavender and sunflower fields and vineyards synonymous with Provence; varied sporting activities such as canoeing, cycling, flying, golf, horse riding, quad biking, mountaineering, tennis, and walking. The gastronomic restaurants and many excellent local wines complete the perfect holiday experience
