The accommodation is situated on the ground floor and has one double bedroom with en suite and one twin bedroom. A bed/settee is available in the lounge, making it suitable for up to 6 people. Any visitor to the county of Yorkshire will probably be aware of the historic city of York, which has huge cultural significance across the whole of Europe.York has an ancient past stretching back to Roman times and the city has managed to retain its magnificent architecture through the ages from this time, when it has variously been a major settlement for the Vikings and a focal point in medieval Britain.Dominating the city is York Minster which is Europe's largest Gothic cathedral and miles of city walls which go back to the 13th century. Orchard Cottage is in a prime location to explore the surrounding area and enjoy riverside walks and rambling through the picturesque open countryside.
Historic York and cosmopolitan Leeds are within easy reach, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy some of the best rural accommodation Yorkshire has alongside bustling city life. Hull is a thirty minute drive away, with its renowned waterfront and bustling nightlife. There are a number of golf courses within easy reach. Selby Abbey and the Blacktoft Sands nature reserve are also close by. From the accommodation Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail is readily accessible, offering a 79 mile walk that is ideal for beginners.
